I'm sure most of you have seen this. But if you haven't, you are in for a nice treat. Kinda gets you in the mood for this Saturday.

Thank you both for posting. I'll never tire of watching that awesome animal.
His Belmont was not just a great race, it was a virtuoso performance - majestic and magical - pure spectacle...

yeah, I saw, of course, AFTER I posted it ... as usual .. but I left it up in case it was overlooked.
good quality bad quality .. I love it.
Thank you Party and War. I'm getting myself in the mood. I think you are too.
No horse can come close to Secretariat, but I'm cheering IHA on ... it's time.

I must have seen this a half dozen times - maybe more. Each time I see it, I still can't believe what I'm seeing.
Saw Big Red in person only once - the Hopeful at Saratoga in 1972. You just knew something special was going on with this horse. It refired my interest in horse racing which I pretty much put aside when my mom died in 1967.

73 Arlington Invitational for me. Right after his TC win. As usual, my mom packs everyone into the Dodge and off we go to Arlington. He was clearly of another species. I remember thinking he wasn't going very fast as they came down the stretch. But it turned out that he just missed the track record. He came back to the stands and he wasn't even blowing.
Some horse.
