Thought I'd just start a thread for this. Here are some pics of her and her baby from yesterday at the sale. I have more I haven't edited, I'll add as I get them online.

He was carried to one point, said heck with that, and so they helped walk him to the show ring.

Aw, those are great Candice! Did she actually foal at Keeneland? If so, is she the first mare to foal at the sale?

Late Monday night. There are some photos in the Keeneland January 2010 thread on the Breeding board of a couple of other newborns, one born on Sunday.

Thank you for sharing all your wonderful photos, Candace. That baby is going to be very outgoing - good socialization at such a tender age. Wonder, however, if all of that exposure is safe?!~

Momma certainly looked like she had some doubts.

Actually, I'm surprised at how compliant she looks in the photos. She must have a rock solid temperament which helps keep the baby calm.

Hot damn, what a face. Hope that right fore straightens out. Probably will if they leave it alone, but operating seems to be the way too many people go these days.

They may have borrowed someone's large dog blanket.

Whatever! It is cute.

Does anyone know if this mare and her baby sold?

That's funny!
There is a woman at my barn who comes on the weekends to ride her horse - her dog comes too & they have matching blankets. I'm not yet sure how I feel about that lol!

One of my foals was born early enough in the year when the weather was still awful and he wore a foal blanket. Looked pretty much like what that baby was wearing.

My family traditionally breeds so that foals are born not earlier than sometime in March, but because my mare hadn't gotten in foal her second year, we started earlier than normal thereby producing a February foal.

Thank you so much, my favorite horse of all time.... I was supposed to be there, but medical reasons kept me away, and I'm devastated I missed it!

They sold to an Australian outfit for $135k, I think.
