Everyone is posting these nice, pretty spring pictures. I hate to say it but it's not quite spring here yet! These pictures were taken at my house just a few days ago!

And that's all I got because my hands were starting to freeze and I still had to get the snow off my car!

Wow, that's insane! It's 80-something here today, lol. I know it is a lot different than what you're used to, coming from Hilton Head! (you are the one originally from Hilton Head, right?)
It actually snowed here some in February; it was a huge deal. Everyone was running around freaking out because it was the first time it had snowed since 1990. I think we ended up getting about half an inch in some places. I was really excited because I wasn't a year old the last time it snowed. I've gotten spoiled this year--I went from never seeing snow to having seen half an inch twice (went on a trip to north Georgia in January) and flurries once (again, north Georgia)! :azn:

I'm from St. Simons Island, GA originally. There's a reason I no longer live there.....I hate to be hot! It snowed on St. Simons and in Brunswick in December 1989. That was the last time for that area.
1/2 an inch?!?!? That's ungodly! Were there avalanches? I'm just kidding haha! It's not unheard of for us to get 2 feet or more in one night!

I can't imagine multiple inches, much less feet!! I'm moving to Athens, GA for school in a couple of months and I'm so excited for snow, even though they don't get 2 feet, they do have it stick to the ground fairly regularly, and they get flurries, which we don't even have here.
Everyone was absolutely freaking out when the 1/2 an inch came. There's a Facebook group called "I saw snow in Savannah, GA in February 2010!" My boyfriend and I played in a parking lot picking snow off the cars and trying to throw it at each other....unfortunately, it was pretty hard and was mostly like throwing ice at each other, but it was still fun!

I assume you're going to good ol' UGA? I know lots of people there but it wasn't for me.
My cousins brought their kids this winter to ski. They are 6 and two 3 year olds. They had never seen snow until then! They got lucky and came during the epic storm of the season where it snowed for 2 1/2 days stright! However, the kids were disappointed that you can't make snowballs with powder!

Yeah, I'm not going to fit in too well. I am a complete loner and do not drink or party at all, whereas everyone else there seems to, from what I've heard...I'm only going because my boyfriend's going and they had a good, generic degree that sounded nice :azn:. I don't really have any idea what I want to do, so I was mostly looking for a public school I could attend for free (through HOPE) and get a decent degree at that I could do a lot of things with (in my case, Management). What school are you going to?
I love going to the beach and seeing kids from other places that have never seen the ocean before...they're so cute, and always go "IT'S SO BIG!!!" I can't imagine being wowed by the ocean. I grew up here, so it's no big deal for me at all--I guess that's how other people feel about snow, lol.

I could have gone for free with HOPE too but I got another scholarship at this school so giving up HOPE wasn't a big deal. I go to Western State College in Gunnison, CO. It's out in the middle of nowhere and there's about 2,200 students. I think it's the perfect size and the location is great. I've heard size is an issue with UGA for lots of people. I couldn't imagine going to school with that many people. Around here we don't need parking permits, there's no bus you have to take to get to your class, and you can be anywhere on campus in 5 minutes. And I forgot to mention that you can be at two ski resorts in 30 minutes or less!
I've also heard that Athens has some fun things to do too. It's just a bigger town with a much bigger school.

Some totally unwarranted chiming in here -- Take any accounting and business courses that you can. They are always relevant, no matter which field you end up in, and are always an asset.
