Just thought I'd share some pics of our..... goats! We've had them a month, and I love them! Our first two girls, Snow White and Sweetheart are mostly boer goats - maybe a mix with something else, but mostly boer.
They are both pregnant and due between mid June and July.
This is Snow White - every day she is getting more and more color on her neck/head, so she might end up looking like Sweetheart.

We're guessing right now that Snow White might have twins, and Sweetheart will have a single. But, the date bred isn't for certain, so we're not sure how close their due dates will really be. They are young, and first time mamas, so as long as everyone comes out of it alive and healthy I will be happy!
They LOVE playing in the dog house...

Our little buckling - still has no name and he's about 4 1/2 months old. We got him about 2 weeks ago. There is nothing more funny than turning them out in our backyard, and he thinks he OWNS our back deck. We block it off so they can't get up there, but he is quite a jumper right now. He gets up there and bleats at the others and does a funny dance. So then Sweetheart figures out a way to get up on the deck to challenge him, and in the end....he ends up on the ground giving her the 'that's no fair' look...haha...They really are fun to watch and be around.
Molly is a boer/nubian cross that I rescued. We're not sure if she's going to make it or not, but we're doing what we can for her. She has severe hoof rot, and some kind of parasite attack on her neck. She was getting lumps on both sides of her neck, and we feared she has a sickness called CL - only contageous when the abscesses rupture. BUT, now we know we're not dealing with that. WHEW. She is healing up for the most part - left side of her neck is healing but still feels scabby. Right side has 2 lumps, and the the others are healing scabs. They itch... so, in case it's anything like Mites, I've been treating her the past few days with Seven Dust - which was recommended. I'm hoping it helps.
She was VERY shy when we got her, wouldn't come near you, and terrified of the other goats. Now, you can walk up to her and she will let you rub on her, she's still a bit skittish, but she has come around SOOOO MUCH. She has also gained weight and you'd think she was pregnant too! She was very sunken in when I brought her home, and her coat looked horrible.

Her front left is awful, and this is how she walks on it.

It looks wet because I soaked it in warm epsom salt water. I am treating it every other day with thrush buster, I'm trimming it as much as possible each week, and hopefully today since the ground is drying out, I'll pack it, so dirt won't keep getting lodged in there, and hopefully the padding will make it a little easier on her to walk.
Her hind left 'may' have some hoof rot as well, so I am treating it.
She had several lumps on both sides of her neck.http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa105/HoosierShadow/mol2.jpg
This is Molly as of 5-25. She's favoring her left side. The back foot has bothered her off and on, and doesn't look anything like the front..so that is a good thing...I hope.

She's come a LOOOOONG way for letting my 3yo daughter pat on her. She's becoming so trusting of me and my daughters. She has no patience for my son LOL BTW, my daughter is quite the little goat girl & adventurer, can you tell? LOL I call her my wild child, she goes outside and 5 seconds later she is a mess LOL

Since I started treating with seven dust, her left side is healing up - as I said just scabs now. THere are two lumps on the right, one is big, the other is getting hard and starting dry up. I've never noticed them actually bursting, they just seem to dry up, and scab. She scratches the hair out of them.

So anyway, just a few pics of the goats. They are a lot of fun to be around - and I'd never been around goats before.
