I know See You At Peelers has her own thread, but I thought it might be cool to have at least a thread (if not a forum) for harness racing, especially since the Hambletonian is coming up in less than two weeks. I specifically wanted to mention something that's pretty cool, and then figured we could continue off onto other harness topics.

A 3yo trotter named Pastor Stephen is racing this entire year to raise money for an African charity. There was a full-page ad about the cause in the Meadowlands Pace's program, and I'm sure it has been posted elsewhere as well.

According to one of the websites I have listed below, "100% of the donations earned from Pastor Stephen during this year’s racing season will be donated to VIP to support the construction of wells to provide access to clean water, the building of a primary school for children who otherwise would remain uneducated, the distribution of livestock and improved seeds to orphan-led households and other vulnerable families, and the other life-changing work of VIP."

Here is some info on the story:

Absolutely! I am into Arabian racing as well (thanks to Delaware), and was at Indiana for a day of QHs, so I know I'll at least be an active poster here.

Why does steeplechasing need its own section? Jumpers are Thoroughbreds, they often run on flat tracks, most are former flat racehorses (or switch between flat and jumps), many share the same owners and/or trainers as flat horses. It's the same freaking sport.
