Thanks for this forum!!!
In case anyone's not familiar with Got Country Grip: he is a solid (without spots) Paint racing gelding, arguably the best of all time. He ran for six years, 2005-2010, amassing 30 starts, 21 wins, 4 places, 2 shows. 18 of those 21 wins came in Stakes, Derbys, Futurities, or Trials. He set two world records and a track record. He won 16 in a row while undefeated but lost his 17th by a nose. He holds the wins-in-a-row record for Quarter Horses, Appaloosas, and Paints, as well as being the highest Paint money-earner and the highest speed rated Paint in history. He was declared Running Breeding Stock (solid colored) World Champion five times in a row.
He is now retired after obviously tailing off in his last season. He will pursue a career as a calf roper with his owners.
Here is one of his most impressive races:

And here is the special HRTV did on him:

I have seen him run three times, and as you can tell I'm obviously quite the fan. But now that he's retired, what do we look forward to?
Well...
His dam, Got A Grip, is the leading broodmare in Paint history and a running Champion herself. Sadly she died this year, and her '11 foal did not make it, but she leaves a legacy behind her that is topped by her most famous son, but it doesn't begin and end with him.
Her first foal, Money Makin' Mama, 2001 by Royal Quick Flash (this makes her 3/4 to Got Country Grip), is retired and has three foals: Heartland Hustler (gelding by Country Quick Dash) who raced four times but has not been active since 2009; a 09 filly by Country Quick Dash who is unraced and hasn't worked, and a 2011 foal by Awesome Chrome.
Got A Grip's third foal (Got Country is her second), Royal Grip, filly by Royal Quick Flash, was a Champion two-year-old. She has not been active since 2008, yet I can find no produce records for her.
Got A Grip's fourth foal, Two Cents Worth by Country Quick Dash, is full to Got Country Grip. She has a yearling by Dos Poruno and a 2011 by Suchanimage.
Got A Grip's 2008 foal, Girls Got Grip, is full to Got Country Grip and is still racing. She has a record of 9 starts, 2 wins, 1 place, 2 show. She most recently finished third in a stake. She worked most recently on July 20, 220 yards in 12.60 breezing.
Got A Grip's 2009 foal, Gotta Quick Grip, another full to Got Country Grip, is also racing. He has a record of 7 starts, 1 win, 1 place, 2 shows and most recentlly finished 10th in a stake on July 22.
Got A Grip's last foal is a 2010 by Suchanimage.
So this will be a thread to keep track of Got Country Grip's sibs and full sibs currently racing, family that will be racing in the future, and also to ask for information--has anyone heard of the fates of Royal Grip and Heartland Hustler?
