Uncle Mo's first-string Valentine wish was crushed, so he's moved on:)........

Uncle Mo (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Uncle-Mo/150181301692159) -- I wanted to ask Zenyatta to be my Valentine but she had already picked Bernardini. There's a real cute filly here named Awesome Maria and when she walks by my stall I am going to ask her to be mine. She's gray and reaaaal pretty. She walks by my stall a lot so I know she likes me.

ZENYATTA
Benoit & Associates photo

"The High Street YMCA in Lexington is offering a private meeting with 2010 Horse of the Year Zenyatta as part of a silent auction to benefit the YMCA of Central Kentucky. The auction will begin February 21 and end at noon EST on February 28.
Zenyatta, who will be bred to Bernardini, is stabled at Lane’s End in Versailles, Kentucky. The winning bid will be invited to visit Zenyatta. Personal pictures with Zenyatta will be allowed for a group of four to six people this summer............"

A few pages back on "Zenyatta news," I was asking about a photographer who took a picture of Zenyatta and Mike Smith at Keeneland. It was very similar to a Wendy Wooley (sp?) photo but the angle was from the back instead of the side. Well, I finally found the photographer -- Kim Angel.

Her website is here: http://www.equineimagesbykim.com/

I can't link to the photo itself or put it here, but if you go to site and look under "Products" then drop down to "Art Prints" and to the right to "Zenyatta," it brings up a slide show of images from Zenyatta's visit to Keeneland. The photograph I was looking for is the second one. Mario is holding Zenyatta and Mike Smith, in his tweedy coat and Dick Tracy hat, has his hand up near her neck. It looks like something out of 1940's film noir.

Thanks for your help!

I know everybody knows about this billboard, but I'm not sure if it's in the thread, so what the heck. I love it! :)

Just the thought that L.A. would have a billboard featuring a racehorse is pretty mind-boggling to me. It REALLY shows how unique is is/was!

Smarty Jones had billboards. Well, I imagine it was Philadelphia Park that put them up, but he was right there, bigger than life.

At least one of them was put up by the city, I'm pretty sure. He also had a full police escort from Philly Park to Belmont. We got progress reports on the local news and sports stations. <g>

Zenyatta; "So ladies, I'm excited about finally getting to meet Bernie, but I'm hearing some stuff about him that has me concerned. Like, I heard he was a cribber and I don't believe in cribbing and consider it a character flaw."
Pirate Queen; "Oh please, cribbing is no big deal. They get a bad rep because some of them don't know when to stop. My own mom cribbed here and there; claimed it was great for your stamina. Get over it."
Zenyatta; "Well, you're probably right. I'd be alot more concerned if he was tail-chewer. That's where I draw the line. Could there be a more disgusting habit than tail-chewing? Eeeew."

Yes I am sure when it gets repeated that Bernie is a cribber, which he isn't to my knowledge, from the many novices reading this site, and then that is repeated as, "I heard..." Darley will once again be over the moon about the "fans" they work so hard to accommodate.

Of course, I am pretty sure a couple of the farms would prefer that van drivers not repeat info on the world wide web, too...

Anyone (that even cared or mattered) with a brain in their head wouldn't put any validity into an internet rumor about B being a possible cribber. You check that stuff out at Snopes.com, anyway. I'd be alot more concerned about what you read written on bathroom walls, because there's no Snopes to check that out with. In any possible event, I think Darley can handle it. Really, I do.

Can we not have just a small, tiny amount of celebratory fun and teeheeing here without the principal coming over the intercom? Were we that loud?

I didn't know that he cribbed, because I assumed you'd be able to make a humorous post using actual attributes of the horse? And yes, trust me, idiots repeat sh!t they see posted on message boards as gospel. It amazes me every day. I will give you that Bernie sucking anything isn't an urgent matter.

You know in all the time I have on my hands to post here, checking out snopes for Bernie's habits (or ANY horse story) was not at the top of my lists of to-do's. Oh, save it, Hermes. Your reaction to a simple bit of fun is so much overdone. I totally stand by my statement that no knowledgable, reputable horse person (at the level and in the circles of horse people that would matter as far as Bernie goes) would take an internet rumor as fact, and if the posts are read in context there wouldn't even be a rumor to begin with. You're giving "the idiots" that repeat sh!t an awful lot of credit.

Further, when you feel compelled to nitpick (that's nitpick with a 'k" just so it's understandable) "a lot" versus "alot" it only makes you look that much more comically hypercritical. If it makes you feel better, I'll be glad to start a thread titled "BERNIE IS NOT A CRIBBER NOR A TAILCHEWER".

If I contracted a vendor to haul my horses, and his employee was posting photos or information before I decided to make it public, I'd fire 'em. But that's just me.

While everyone knew she was going this week, they do take precaution with her security or having to shoo away an occasional idiot, so I just would have respected that if for decorum more than functional requirement of employment.

Telling personal tales after it is public seems fine to me unless specifically told to not do so, which is unlikely in most cases. Those are enjoyable.

At the most, when posted in advance it comes off as "look what I know" and the number of people who read this board (even if they don't post much at all) who know inside info and don't betray it far outweighs the person who feels the need to do so.

In the least, the inside scoop being provided here is well intentioned and fun for some of you.

Not 11 months, more like 11+ years, or however long she is a broodmare. So there will be a non-stop fan fest from breeding, to tummy growing, to giving birth, to cute foal pics, 2nd year breeding, weaning prior foal, 2nd foal born, first foal becomes yearling / 2 year old, workout schedules, debut race, videos, ............. ah, exquisite torture for HR for more than a decade to come. I always enjoy MM's stories. It's nice to hear about the personalities of the horses. He didn't disclose anything that would put Zenyatta at a risk - he said "an announcement in 12 hours." He didn't say "my coworker is picking her up at x hour and driving her from Lane's End to Darley." No way for any freak to try to sabotage things. I don't think he ever posts those kinds of details - more of a "I transported b and c yesterday." I don't see the harm in that.

As for photos, no, that was MM's own reference to posting photos. I like MM and his posts. But I have often thought he posts inside info that the farms (his ultimate paycheck) would prefer be kept quite. And to that they are entitled IMO, as I have made clear without calling anyone a name to make my point.

Hermes, when I mentioned trolls harrassing MM, I never mentioned your name, did I? Interesting that you assumed I was speaking of you though. Why would that be?

You threw in the RetroTroll in your next post (which did give me a laugh, thanks!). I just returned the favor with your favorite nickname when I wrote back.

The days over and done. Native Diver was having a little literary fun and MM just wanted to share some news without saying too much. Lighten up on them a little. And quit trying to play the good poster while your at it, you know, the one who doesn't insult or call people names to make a point. No one here is *that* new. Not that I dislike the cheap disguise mind you.

I wonder if that pawing nonsense disappeared when she started getting a lot of paddock time...

Wondered that myself. Always seemed to be a tension thing with her, though it was cute everyone thought of it as 'dancing'.

I always saw it as a "ready to go out and kick butt" thing ... Kind of a chomping at the bit deal.

I'm sure that the more likely reason was a nervous and anxiety thing ... Which makes her ability to go out and do what she did afterward all the more impressive. :)

I don't have a problem at all. As Tin Man said, it's a thread about Zenyatta. The thread was started when she was racing. After she's done racing her progeny will carry on.

When I read....

No kidding. Eleven more months of this..... I feel compelled to state that it will be more than 11 months and if that's content you find irrelevant to racing, well, you needn't stress yourself out by reading more of the thread. Just sayin'.

That looks like the one we all were giggling about recently in another thread, doesn't it? The one who had a shrine set up on the kitchen table and claimed "the mob had Barbaro whacked."

I couldn't decide then if the person was faking it or real.:)

No, it didn't mention the shirt. But it did say...
"...if you think the mob didn’t injure BARBARO, your blind. im sure that after he broke through the gate, in the confusion he was whacked in the leg. nobody would have notice. it was a vast conspiracy."Which makes me think it could have been the same person.

Oh, so the day was made longer by this post? As for troll, it was me or IG you were speaking to. And you used the word first, and way out of line in this thread, too. Playing games and pretending otherwise seems to be a sport here, but I am not often quite that disingenuous.

As for my disguise, actually, I mostly respond to others here, I don't go first with name calling. When I speak my mind first I do so with reason and am often fair, as I was to MM here. I have an opinion on privacy that should be afforded to clients in all industries as a general philosophy.

As an example of decorum on privacy, although not a vendor, but rather a fellow client of same vendor...when Dottie has been asked who Zenyatta's pasture buddies are being bred to, she defers to the privacy of the owners. That's what I'm talking about. If you don't like it, fine. but IMO, if someone wants to issue updates on their horse, or coy posts, then they should be the first one to do it.

I posted this on another thread, my little tribute to Zenyatta and Bernie... to lighten your day...

Song of Bernardini (from Lane's End Story) (to the tune of Maria from West Side Story)

Zenyatta
I just saw a mare named Zenyatta
I'm walking to the shed
I think I'm off my head
It's HER!

Zenyatta
I just met a mare named Zenyatta
We're barely introduced
But I think I've been seduced
By her!

Zenyatta
Say it soft, and the future looks glorious
Say it loud – and our foals are victorious
Zenyatta!
Zenyatta! Zenyatta! Zenyatta!

Zenyatta
I danced with a mare named Zenyatta
She has such a kind eye,
I know that I'm the guy
For her!

Zenyatta
I just met a mare named Zenyatta
I think it's very clear
She must come back next year,
She's mine!

Zenyatta
Say it soft, and the future looks glorious
Say it loud – and our foals are victorious
Zenyatta!
Zenyatta! Zenyatta! Zenyatta!

FEEL GOOD STORY!!

As an aside ... For paying his dues ... I think Zenny's designated training sidekick deserves a big shout out here!

He ran his 1st race about a year ago and came in 7th ... Then was designated as a training buddy for Zenyatta and didn't race again until about a month ago. He came in a fast closing 2nd in his first race back ...While get this ... Running as a deep closer, trailing the entire field by as many as 10 lengths until they hit the stretch run. He lost by 3/4 of a length.

Last Friday, he ran with the same style ... Trailing all but one horse in the field by at least 7 lengths again until the stretch run. Then he closed like a freight train, gobbling up ground in an instant. He won very easily, by a couple of lengths. His style is VERY similar to Zenny's and I'm loving watching this guy develop.

With the shadows during the last race, it darkened his coat and visually, because of that and the silks, it really reminded me of Zenny as he ran everyone down. His stride through the close was very similar to hers. Maybe he picked up a thing or two from tagging along with her. ;-)

I think he's a great story and a ton of fun to watch thus far. Just thinking he sacrificed a year to be Zenny's punching bag and now he's finally getting his chance and making the most of it.

Here's to continued success for him.

If you haven't seen his 2 comback races and you're a Zenny fan, I'd suggest viewing them on CalRacing.com. They're pretty visually impressive. I'm really enjoying this guy. He's got a fan now. :)

Here are some pics of him from his last race ... His Maiden Breaker. He's now 3-1-1-0 ... Not bad!! :becky:

He's a truly gorgeous horse too!!

Gosh, He is a big as Zenyatta, too.

What level is he racing at now? MSW and into allowance?

Commanche Trail (who is standing out in my field and has been for the last 14 years) was the rabbit for Tabasco Cat when he and Holy Bull were rivals. He did not get to race in his specialty (sprints) until Tabasco Cat retired to the breeding shed.

He became a graded SW after that and won over $400,000. I always wonder what he could have done if he had been allowed to race as a sprinter right from the start. Losing time and again had to have taken a lot out of him.

It's an awesome picture, isn't it? I've never bought a horse photo before, but I might have to in this case.

Why would anyone question the quality of a BH print? I doubt they sell junk ... and the important thing is that you like the photo. If you like it, go for it.

>What's in the Stars for Your Horse?

Sun in Aries (March 21 - April 20)

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, so a horse born under this sun sign likes to be first and is a natural leader. Aries is a cardinal fire sign and is ruled by the planet Mars. The Aries-sun horse is therefore extremely energetic by nature, as well as competitive and decisive. This horse shines when it can express its fiery competitive spirit. If you do not provide your Aries horse with an outlet for this feisty energy, then it may well decide to provoke a confrontation with you, just for fun! Whilst an Aries horse needs to be given space mentally and emotionally within the partnership to take some initiatives, you do need to teach this horse to think before it acts. The Aries-sun horse's impulsiveness can otherwise lead it into difficulties! The Aries horse also needs physical space to do its own thing each day, as it is such a bundle of energy and loves to be busy and active. It needs to run free in a field and challenge itself against other horses by playing dominance games and testing its physical strength. As Aries rules the head, this horse may have something about the head, which attracts attention. For this reason, many Aries-sun horses have a noticeable feature or a cut or scar somewhere on the head. The Aries horse may also be prone to bumping or hitting its head!<

Because I wasn't certain of the quality of the prints, that's why. Why would anyone question someone's asking? Why not just answer an honest question or shut up about it? Unless you're purposefully being biotch?

From the article:

"An ultrasound examination taken Wednesday shows Zenyatta appears to be holding her first pregnancy, owner Jerry Moss said.
Moss confirmed that the planned ultrasound exam, the second one since the 7-year-old Horse of the Year’s Feb. 23 mating to Bernardini, took place Wednesday. Moss called the scan “a successful procedure” and confirmed the mare still is in foal. The routine ultrasound was carried out 28 days post-breeding and followed an initial ultrasound on March 10 that first confirmed Zenyatta’s pregnancy."

Does anyone know if she will be bred back or wait until next year? I wonder if they were expecting this or had a concern because they checked her on 3/24 and did it again a few days later. Is that common?

I would think they would try again, of course checking her out thoroughly. It is not too late in the season. I also would assume that they would go back to him as she was confirmed in foal, so it isn't his fault. Sometimes these things happen, sometimes they can't even be determined why. Hopefully it was a fluke and she will not be a hard mare to keep in foal.

If they do not try again this year, it could be for quite a few different reasons and reasons we might never know.

The diary entries are made by Z's connections. I don't think it could get more official than that.

It seems like a lot of the maiden mares I've followed the past couple of years have had this or similar happen. I don't know if it... not exactly common, but not unusual, or if it's just a coincidence.

Yeah I know but hopefully an actual article is coming out, stating what happened, if they'll breed her again, if she's healthy, etc. Something that sounds like it was written by a knowledgeable human for curious concerned humans? I know I'm about to get slammed but I find the diary entries annoying and kind of stupid, especially when something that's actually news happens and I want to hear about it from a perspective other than a fictional typing Zenyatta's.

No, it really isn't, but all the same it's not "un"common for mares to reabosorb an early pregnancy. I seem to see it happen half a dozen times or so a year, with different mares across a wide age range. Sometimes there's an easily determined cause, sometimes there isn't. Won't affect her ability to conceive or carry a foal to term. More on it over on the Breeding & Sales forum.

I wonder if her age and how long she raced is a factor. How old was Azeri when she retired?

jenn52318
03-29-2011, 10:38 AM
Part of it for her is how fit she was and wound up from racing can take some time to settle. Why it can be harder with maidens is you don't know what is normal for them, some need this med some need different amounts. Some pool fluid which makes it hard to stay in foal, etc. There are a million reasons, mares that have trouble staying in foal have to have uterine biopsies. I am sure they tested her before though so she should be clear, same with cultures. There is a lot that goes into it.

Azeri was retired at 6 and bred the following spring (at 7) to Storm Cat. But she didn't conceive that spring - her first foal (Take Control) was a result of a breeding to AP Indy the year after that.

I'm 99.9% sure Azeri was bred the same year she was retired, however she did not get pregnant. I know she had a fractured cannon and was on stall rest and medications which can screw up a pregnancy, so that wasn't surprising.

My own experience with maiden mares is that they generally have a very good chance of conceiving and carrying to term without any incidents. Little "hick ups" along the way like this with Zenyatta are not uncommon and don't typically hinder the mare down the road.

Wasn't she being trained up to some race at Santa Anita that January (her 7yo year) and was retired after a breeze? She cracked/fractured a cannon bone, but they didn't report that...claimed she was sound.

No. You're definitely confusing her with someone else. Azeri retired (sound, I might add) following the 2004 BCC. She was bred the following spring to Storm Cat.

ETA: Saw your post above - we posted at the same time. She was on the farm that fall - not training for anything at Santa Anita. they BRIEFLY considered the Falls City after the BCC, but Lukas pulled the plug when the weights came out.

Well, all I know is that I did see a radiograph report with the name "Azeri" on it with a fractured cannon and vet recommendations for some time frame (months!) stall rest. Perhaps it was a different horse. Could have been a show horse for all I know. I've noticed duplications in different horse registries before; wouldn't be the first one to crop up.

In any case, back to Zenyatta, I'm fairly (lol, read VERY) confident she didn't race with a lot of drugs and the fact that she cycled quickly and conceived quickly tells me that reproductively, she is healthy. There's always the rare circumstance of, without going into gross details, certain physical problems that make staying pregnant a problem. But these are really quite rare. I'd be very very confident that Zen will get pregnant again and hold onto it.

Your info is correct, as it stands.

However, this isn't a really big deal, unless this happens again. I'm sure Z has been palped and cultured before being bred, and I doubt that there was a serious cause for concern or she would have been fllushed, treated, biopsied etc. already.

For those who are not into breeding, this sort of early loss is common and while disappointing, of itself is no reason for alarm, much less the wringing of hands.

The fetus in a newly pregnant mare is tiny, it's not yet a foal, and it does not permanently attach to the uterine wall for several weeks. It literally travels all around the inside of the uterus, sensitizing it and getting it biochemically ready. Somewhere between day 35 and day 42 it usually attaches to the uterine wall and establishes a blood supply...that's why the ultrasounds after the first month are key. If something isn't quite right, the the fetus doesn't attach and is passed out. It's so little, you wouldn't even know it had happened - you know by its absence on the ultrasound after the fact.

I never used to get excited about a new pregnancy, especially with a maiden, until after they were 48-60 days in foal. Although they can still abort (they really don't "absorb") later in the term, if you get to the 2 month mark and they're still in foal you're usually good. We typically bred 25-35 outside mares a year, plus our own. There were always a couple that caught and lost, and had to be re-bred on second cycle. Most went on to conceive without problems in future. Veterinary medicine is even better now than it was 25-20 years ago too.

Conceiving but failing to carry later in the pregnancy is a much bigger concern, often harder to fix. Since Z is a maiden it's unlikely she has inflammation or scar tissue to cause her problems.

I'm sure Lane's End will bring all that modern reproductive science can bear to keep her in foal should she catch next time. They've probably already given her a shot to cycle her in early. Z conceived so easily on her first cover, I wouldn't be worried yet.

jenn52318

I am not worried either, just pointing out there is a lot that goes into it, and the number of things that can cause problems is high. Only concern like you said will come if it continues to happen. Sometime it just happens and it isn't a huge deal and they started early in the season so it should be fine.

Not sure if this was mentioned anywhere, but Zenyatta made the Best of America list in the May's Reader's Digest. She is under the header of Best Catch. Whimsical bit about all her credentials that will make her a prize for any champion Stallions -they did have an update that she was to be bred to Bernardini at the end. A beautiful picture of her on the page.

Yes, it was a lot of fun! It's great to see him do well, looks like he figured out he gets to win (as long as Z's not around)! He's got one on dirt and now one on grass. :)

Yeah ... Money was tight this last weekend, but I was pimping him to everyone around me pre-race ...

Once he lined up at the top of the stretch, I knew he had it in the bag!! He's one helluva a closer ...

I told John Shirreffs afterward that I was the leader of the El Vino fan club ... He said yeah ... El Vino was like "Where is she? Where is she?" when he was going through his stretch drive.

Fear of her coming is sure serving him well ... And his Beyers have been great too!

He certainly learned how to close from being her sparring partner.

He wasn't up for claim any more, he moved up in class and switched surfaces for this race. This was a very solid field too ...

Looking forward to his continued progression I hope.

Per John ... They'd like a Allowance race for him next, but he's not sure if they can get it as they're very hard to fill at his level.

He was VERY jazzed about everything ... I was cheeing him on hard down the stretch run, telling everyone as soon a he leveled out that he was gonna get it!!

I love this guy ... He's gorgeous and I love, love, love those deep closers ...

If there is anyone here who hasn't see his last 3 races, do yourself favor and watch them on CalRacing ... They're very exciting and extremely impressive!

Here are the pics I got of him from yesterday ... He's a fantastic poser too. Every time he gives me great shots. And Yesterday, he was doing the Zenyatta ...Stop, stare and pose thing in the paddock BIG time!

I asked John about seeing El Vino at the barn, but evidently El Vino's temperment is a bit more rambunctious than Zenny's. He said he's liable to bite you.

As an aside, John and Frank said that we should come by the barn and see Zenyatta's stall ... Evidently they have some kind of a shrine or something to her I guess ... I hope to be going soon. I'll post pics when I do. Likely in the next couple of weeks.

Go El Vino!!! I wish I'd have had money yesterday, I wanted to bet him across the board. That would have been a nice strike. I'm betting no double digit odds for him next time out. :(

He only had 1 race before having to shelve his career for Zenny. (I'm sure you know that Firehorse, Just putting that out there for those who may not have. ;) )

He's now 4-2-1-0 ... Pretty darn nice! And he's a BIG boy too! Very visually striking!

El Vino is doing very well. Hopefully he will continue to improve. I'm sure naysayers will say he's just an allowance horse, but he's probably earned more in his first 4 starts than most horses. Just for comparison, the great Nicanor at this point in his career had only earned $37,500.

But Tinny, just what did he sacrifice?

I suppose I should wash my mouth out with soap, but I can't believe so many people would be interested in seeing "a stall". I mean, it's a stall. They really don't vary that much from track to track.

Now if the horse is still in it, that's another story .... or if we were in year 2025, then I could see someone saying, "hey guess what, that's where Zenyatta used to live".

I think it's nice to put up plaques where famous horses have lived ... but then the barn is torn down and with it goes all the history so that's kind of depressing. That's what happened to Concern's barn at Pimlico. The only horse to have trained in Maryland who won the Classic and a couple of years later, a bulldozer came in and flattened the barn. That's a little sad.

It's interesting to see how many people are publishing books (using Blurb) about Zenyatta and I guess that's easy to do when you live in an area where the horse lives and runs. I can't read what they've written, but it's nice that people took the time to put something out there. Not sure how you buy them (thru Blurb, I think), but I've seen two on Facebook in the last couple of days.

Correct.
Example: http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/1877933

$24.95 + shipping for a 34 (with a bit of dead space) page softbound "picture book".

Good thing is, you can "read" the whole book in a few minutes for free.

On Demand publishing is a great idea, but pricey. I'm not sure what the author makes, or how it compares with "real" publishing, but the risks are minimized.

I have a friend who did this with a limited appeal golf book. He's by no means getting rich, but is enjoying getting his story out.

His 4 year old season ... Normally a very important year for most race horses.

I'm sure in that year, he learned much though ... as he got smoked in his only start prior to being a training buddy.

But being that he'd only had one prior start and he's doing SO well now ... It makes one wonder if he'd have been ready to roll like this sooner.

Bottom line ... I'm happy he's getting his chance to shine now and that he's making the most of it. I hope he continues to impress and that the way he's been able to close is the norm rather than an aberrant hot streak.

I know he's doing SO well now. He ran like a tomato can in his first race (16 lengths back), then was off for almost 10 months.

I'll ask again: Just what did he sacrifice?

I can't put it any more clearly than I did HB ... So I've gotta be guessing you don't agree that missing his 4 year old season was a sacrifice ... And that's cool ... We disagree then.

He was out, probably for a reason. Perhaps he wasn't mature enough. Perhaps he wasn't trained enough.
I wouldn't call it a sacrifice. Probably an INVESTMENT.

Time, training, conditioning, letting him mature, etc for 10 months, then in 2011 reaping the rewards: 3-2-1-0

Many horses haven't done well early.

OK ... Well when I was talking with Sherriffs on Sunday, he was talking about the sacrifice El Vino had made too ... But I'm sure you'd know better about his horse than he would right? ;)

Not saying he'd have been ready to fire like this directly off of his 1st race, but almost undoubtedly he didn't need a year off in between races.

I'm sure being her whipping boy definitely helped him out though. He mimics her style in many ways thus far ... Including his posing. He doesn't paw though ... But he stops and stares and strikes the pose in the paddock ... And his winner's circle poses are indentical. He was watching and learning and taking notes. But ... Per John ... He's NO social butterfly like she is. No petting and posing with him any time soon. ;)

Make no mistake about it ... His delayed absence was to continue being her training buddy ... Until she was done ... The Moss' own El Vino too.

Yeah ... Who knows? He probably needed a little more seasoning.

As we stand here now, biding his time sure seems to be paying off. Upward and onward for this interesting pony I hope! :becky:

Not sure if you saw this HB ... But Sherriffs told me that they'd like an allowance race for him next, but he said it's hard to get one filled at his current level ... Something to do with "winners of 2 races" ...
