Re: Travers 2018

I have narrowed my win candidate to either Catholic Boy, Bravazo, or Tenfold. GL everyone. Not betting the race, but should be a good one. Got the winner Catholic Boy at 7-1 (and bravazo ran 3rd. ) was very very very happy about Mendy. He needed this race. Travers winner rarely wins BCC so hopinig ...

Re: Dutrow Request to Amend License Revocation Denied

Dutrow is the scapegoat for the "too big to fail" and "super trainers" who should be suspended but aren't.

He got a rotten deal, but that's how scapegoats are used

I did. Only to see my 6-1 horse go to 5/2 odds.

I usually don't put much of my money into U.S. racing anymore......the reasons why would take 10 pages to explain. Most people don't need the explanation though. :D

Re: Justify

Knew the "he's lost weight" story from last week was horse puckey. Baffert had bragged after the Belmont that he'd lost none and was thriving, then after weeks of no plans for a race, suddenly he's light. And now he weighs more again..... This week it's an ankle..... Anyone who leaves the sound on ...

Firenze Fire is a pretty good value at 6-1. Rooting for Mendelssohn though.

Re: Jockey/Trainer News - 2018

IIRC, the owner of the horse was of the opinion that the starter should not lose his job. The owner's opinion carries more weight for me than 117 anonymous tweeters. not for me. sounds like these people don't know where the line needs to be drawn. I don't care if the Pope thinks it's okay. Punching...

Re: Jockey/Trainer News - 2018

That explains why all the Phoenix-owned horses, not just the US-bound Gronkowski, were removed from Noseda's barn. Noseda will face charges. If it happened here he'd be given a wrist-slap, run his horses under another trainer's name during a short suspension (if any), and carry on as usual.

On the floor? Where is security? I've never seen that before ... I never see that kind of stuff down here....not to that extent..

i can't keep coming to this site if i want to stay a racing fan YOu must live in a bubble of some sort......it's not this site. It's U.S. racing. Do you have any idea how many people leave this sport all the time, because of so many tnings that NEED to be addressed and corrrected? How about all tho...

Re: Justify/Restoring Hope...quite the duo

Repole is a selfish whiner and has given a black eye to a sport that is already seen as "corrupt" by some--- he makes me puke I don't take it out on the horses.....I love Justify..........but I truly despise Baffert. Repole has a long long long way to go in terms of black eyes. ;) I'm not a fawning...

Re: Justify/Restoring Hope...quite the duo

The bigger issue than a "tainted" Triple Crown (Sir Barton ran coked up to his eyeballs. That crown was never clean in the first place) is that there is gambling involved, and when a horse is being entered not to win but to help another horse win, while not being a coupled entry, bettors deserve to...

Re: Early Belmont race prediction.

Congrats Don! That was an excellent pick. Pedigree friend had him good to almost 14F (best distance of any horse in the race) which is why I put the show bet on him. You were wrong howerver, that I would wish I had played to win. I would have lost that wager, but actually put $17 on him to show (wha...

Re: Early Belmont race prediction.

Definitely not against using tools but I hear yearly people who talk about horses bred for the Belmont who wouldn't even get home first with a head start in an optional claimer. You can be bred for it all day long but plodding along doesn't mean you'll end up being fast enough to do anything. the y...

Re: Early Belmont race prediction.

I don't really know how much pedigree matters. Barely any of them are trained for 12f so it's kinda a free for all, isn't it? I could point out why looking at performance and PPs at 9F or 10F is a free for all for a 12F race as well. Yes, Som, any race where you have horses doing something th...

Re: Early Belmont race prediction.

Hofburg is such bad value as the 2nd betting choice. He has never won a stakes race! Even longshots Noble Indy and Free Drop Billy have won a stakes race. The 50-1, Free Drop Billy, is actually a Grade 1 winner capturing the Breeders' Futurity last year. I sort thru their pedigrees, both mare and s...

I think I heard that he was playing around when he changed leads...as in, giving a little buck. Must be interesting for an exercise rider when your 1,300 lb.
