Just watched the replay on RTN, striking how much better the track call was than on NBC.
Agree. Not a fan of Larry Collmus. He screams too much at the end and his voice gets this gutterral tone that I find very irritating. I do miss Tom Durkin.

Re: Sol Kumin

He is a very wealthy hedge fund manager who buys into a lot of already successful or promising horses as a minority partner as his primary business model. He names his “stables” after places on Nantucket Island, where he built a large home. Monomoy, Head of Plains, Madaket, and Sheep’s Pond are all ...

Re: Breeders' Cup Watchalong Thread

Felt like Sadler could have been a bit more upbeat and gracious when interviewed after the win, but I guess he was irritated by the 0 for 43 constant chatter. Nice to see Bob immediately congratulating him after the race.

Sister Charlie propped and threw John Velasquez on the way back to the winners circle- not sure why?

Impressive win by Improbable in the Street Sense with same connections as Justify but with Drayden in the irons. Reminds me a bit of Justy with the chestnut coat and big white blaze.

We saw Doc Cebu win at the Genesee Valley Hunt Club races. It was his second win of this race in a row. An up and coming star.

Maybe a 2-3 month rest, then a class drop for Bravazo would do the trick. I really hope Lukas doesn’t push for the BC with him.

Poor Bravazo- he looked like an exhausted horse in Philly. Hope he gets some well -earned rest now, but you never know with Lukas. He likes to have some action in the big races.

So happy he made it home safely after such an ordeal. Can he be used for breeding in the future once fully recovered?

Not sure I believe this. Likely has some minor physical issue that needs time that they choose not to share. Hope he comes back strong next year. Certainly makes the BC Juv less exciting.

Re: 2018 Keeneland September Yearling Sale

How do non-live ( fake) bids work? Is that to stimulate interest? Let consigned save face if only low bids? Seems like should not be allowed and is deceiving to public. To me another example of the secrecy that pervades the horse racing and breeding worlds.
