Re: Pimlico Special

Noble Bird will not be the second choice in the Met Mile. I would gladly bet you on that right now. He may not even run there ( though I agree with you that he should ). I don't know who's pointing there. I was just taking BTW's lead. I haven't been paying much attention but the only horses I can t...

Re: Pimlico Special

Noble Bird is apparently a candidate for the Met Mile, where he's likely to be no worse than the 2nd choice. i would run in the brooklyn, the horses pedigree seems to have tons of stamina. With all due respect, no you wouldn't. It would make little sense to run your G1 winner (with whom you're tryi...

I don't get the impression they are saying that.

Re: 2016 Preakness Stakes

Doug O'Neil's post race comments about race instructions mean nothing. Especially after the gates open. Rider's are supposed to have brains. Am I unaware of the rule that states that no one shall criticize sweet little Mario Gutierrez? The average jockey really has one race instruction. It shouldn'...

Re: 2016 Preakness Stakes

I don't mean to denigrate Exaggerator, as I do like him a lot. But I think it's very fair to note that he had almost everything go his way: a. Ground saving trip on the inside when everyone else went wide to avoid the rail b. Main competition went way fast way early c. Mud The last point can go eit...

Fun race. It's always a treat to be in Baltimore for it. I was glad Cherry Wine ran nicely but still would have preferred the 'W' for him!

Cherry Wine is going to sneak up the rail in the rain and be this year's version of Tale of Verve. He should be in every bet you make.

Re: 2016 GR II 1 1/16 Dixie

This is always one of my favorite races of the year because the Pimlico folks really seem to hang their hat on attracting a quality, competitive field. This year is definitely no exception.

Re: 2016 Black Eyed Susan S. (Grade II) 20/05

This field is anything but light. I'm probably cutting out of work early to watch it. So who do you like other than Land Over Sea & Go Maggie Go? 11 of 14 have never won a graded stake of any kind. Midnight On Oconee is the one they'll have to get, but there's plenty of speed to keep her company. K...

Re: Maria Borell

I'm not certain she 'won.' Over the first 5.5 months of 2016, she has 16 starters, zero winners they've only brought in $33,800. And now one of the (obviously few) owners she picked up simply because they felt bad for her has already canned her. She was given a golden ticket and already kicked it a...

Re: Maria Borell

If Jacobson had the same sort of contract that Borell had ( if the information about how that contract was structured is correct ), I think it makes more sense why he would drop horses so precipitously. If he was having to survive on just his share of the winnings, no wonder he was so focused on 'j...

Re: 2016 Preakness Stakes

Just not the caliber of competition. Understand.... but if you're a horse who cannot find footing in slop, then you are not competitive. Regardless of caliber. One of the reasons many people don't even bother wagering on off tracks. I certainly wouldn't make a large wager on an off track myself. Ot...

Re: 2016 Preakness Stakes

At this point in time, Nyquist is yet to run on an off track. The first TC winner in 37 years relished it in this same race last year as have other TC winners like Seattle Slew in the Belmont. Other would-be TC winners like Riva Ridge, however, haven't fared so well. If the track comes up wet on Sa...
