Re: 2019 Pegasus World Cup

After last year, it seems unlikely too many people will buy slots when they know they can essentially get in for free if they wait until the end.

Not sure, but I feel like when we showed it last year, the race before was also shown.

Re: Jockey/Trainer News - 2018

Rick worked tirelessly, for many years, to help everyone on the backside. He fought for their best interests endlessly. His popularity with his owners, fine people like Ralph Evans and Seth Klarman, speaks volumes about what kind of person he was. He was that rare person who could argue without maki...

The guys on TVG said that Mike Smith has decided to ride Abel Tasman in the Distaff after her nice recent workout. Johnnie V. picks up the mount on Midnight Bisou.
Shocking!

Re: 2018 Pacific Classic @ Del Mar G1 $1MM

Just looking back at the comments of this thread and started thinking... if we’re going to judge Accelerate by who he beat this year, we should certainly judge Justify by who he beat... because they aren’t a consistent bunch, and the best of them was Good Magic, who got his ass handed to him by a t...

Re: Why Bother NYRA?

Andy Serling ‏@andyserling My Picks have been updated for scratches . Just try and imagine your life without having the ability to do that, and it'll all make more sense. Working man. More stupidity. The races were taken off the turf before 8am and I tweeted out the scratches, and we know you follo...

Re: Why Bother NYRA?

Just FYI.....while the opportunities work well for you I understand that and am happy for you, but just so you know.....I'm a big fan of on-line contests where they typically consist of 8-10 races from a couple of tracks and all the selections have to be input before the first race is run. I'm allo...

Re: Why Bother NYRA?

Just have to wonder why the racing secretary continues to card turf races? When were today's races drawn, maybe Monday of this week? The news of the wet weather was in all the papers and all the TV channels, what were they thinking? I realize your posts are fishing expeditions, but for some factual...

Re: 2018 Two-year-olds

The Breeders Futurity was essentially an eyesore. In the context of the race, a slow one where the first two finishers were inside pretty much the whole way, only Standard Deviation ran an even mildly interesting race, as he came from way back being wide the entire trip.

Re: Congratulations re: BreedersCup 2018

Accelerate will be a fairly tepid favorite over West Coast, I believe. After Saturday, I’m partial to West Coast marginally over Thunder Snow. I think the two the latter split in the JCGC are bounce candidates for the Classic with the winner bouncing higher—provided he makes his way off the Vet’s L...

Surprising that perhaps the most exciting 2YO in the country, Newspaperofrecord, isn't even mentioned in this thread. Her win in Sunday's Miss Grillo was quite the eye opener....

Re: G1 PA Derby & G1 Cotillion Saturday, Sept. 22

I'm not seeing the Pennsylvania Derby listed on the TV Guide anywhere other than TVG (which I don't get) at the moment. What a shame. I'll truly miss listening to how these 3 year old boys are running for no reason because they won't get any kind of honors because Triple Crown all throughout the br...

Re: 2018 Two-year-olds

I'm surely rooting for my friend Tom Amoss to have a top horse, but Cairo Cat went 0.12 seconds faster, which begs the question....what was behind Serengeti Empress? Don't get me wrong, she's obviously very good, and could turn out to be a top horse in her division, but big margins usually have a lo...

I believe Aurelia Maximus sold privately for $1 million. He got a 79 Beyer for his win. Firster Looking at Bikinis got a 91 Beyer for his 6.5F debut four races later.

You can watch the head-on replay on the NYRA site ( the 10th race on 7/7 ) and clearly see what happens as well as an obvious exchange between riders.... https://www.nyra.com/belmont/racing/replays I don't know why the suspension was this long, especially relative to other suspensions, but it is an ...

Re: 2018 Royal Ascot

Have we had any intact male winners over there? Do we consider Without Parole an American horse? He's a pretty international combination of factors: Owned and bred by the Gunthers, who have a Kentucky farm but whom I heard TVG's Scot describe as Canadian. Sired by the Saudi-owned, British-based Fra...

Re: 2018 Royal Ascot

No one said it was stupid. I forgot that no one can ask questions on this forum. It's a shame and it's annoying. I might not use the word stupid, but it wasn't particularly clever. I don't think the mathematics were there given his likely finish in the Queen Anne ( especially vs the Manhattan ). Ke...
