Re: 2018 Keeneland November Sale

There doesn't seem to be a high correlation between "looks" and sale price.

Re: 2018 Keeneland November Sale

These cheap mares "in foal to" - is the buyer also responsible for the stud fee?

Re: The Melbourne Cup (G1)

I wouldn't normally be worried about Rostropovich's tongue hanging out... but it does seem to be on the blue side, which makes the dressage rider in me cringe. :? Here's hoping it's either the stream feed or my monitor (or both). I understand the tongue tie, but not this tongue hanging out thing. W...

they are also showing Melbourne Cup on TVG (on a two minute delay); their pre race show is better- no silly fashion stuff. they are actually talking about the horses
Could move this to the War Horse thread.

I have a NZ expat friend living in the US, looking for a free livestream. Anybody know of one?
All hail the Kiwis!
There should be one on Racing.com or I hear the Skyracingworld.com is doing one

Re: TVG

Due to dropping cable tv earlier this year and going with a cheap streaming package, I wondered how I was going to watch the Breeders' Cup races not shown on NBC (which I get OTA) on my tv. Turns out the Breeders' Cup website streams all of the races using a "player's feed (Churchill's?)", so I wat...

Re: Accelerate vs Justify HOTY

But but but, Accelerate just beat everyone in the Classic. [snip] Justify did not prove he was HOY, he was a champion 3-year-old. There's a BC Classic held every year, and every year will produce a Classic winner by virtue of one horse beating the others to the wire. Barring a track disaster or can...

It looked like the trailing horse was eased at top of the stretch in the Classic. Any idea who that was?
I know Lone Sailor was last for the majority of the race so maybe it was him?
Just checked Twitter, Roaring Lion was eased.

For Justify fans, just be grateful he won the Triple Crown. That's more elusive than winning HotY.

So Alive -- (Street Sense x Mythical Bride) a half to Vino Rosso won on debut at Keeneland R5 after navigating what seemed an impossible trip, in the mud, finally eating up the frontrunner in about three jumps once he got clear.

Re: Hoppertunity

Kentucky wants Army Mule because despite having a rather unfashionable pedigree (at least IMHO), he was Precocious™ and Speedy™ and they can advertise him as Undefeated™. I once thought TB breeders must be smarter than dog breeders because of the costs involved. I've since been disabused of that si...
