Re: Accelerate vs Justify HOTY

On a related note, this weeks Sports Illustrated has a story on Justify. A well written piece that covers his 112 day career. It should have been titled "Home run hitters get all the chicks"......

Re: Accelerate vs Justify HOTY

sorry that is just so much speculation. in any horse racing season a horse runs against the horses who show up. He won the triple crown- please tell me who the hell Seattle Slew beat in the triple crown races? Sanhedrin? I love Seattle Slew and he is a great horse and he is a great horse in great p...

Re: Accelerate vs Justify HOTY

And I still maintain that he would not have won any recent Preaknesses with that performance. The Belmont and Derby are substantially more arguable; I certainly think he would have won all or most of the second-tier Belmonts (i.e. years besides 2015, 2007, and 2005) with that same trip. Probably a ...

I hope this is a one year exception to allow the hockey rink to be built. While Mondays are quiet, it is the one day of the week that allows leisurely activities like multiple trips to the paddock, or a trip to the rail to watch a race.
It was an inaccurate report regardless.
Thanks

Put Justify against any other crop of the last 20 years and he would be lucky to win one TC race. He is a very good horse who was born in the right year..................

Enough with mumble mouth accents. I haven't fully understood a So Cal call in 20 years.....an American, any American......racing is hard enough.

Re: Breeders Cup Upcoming Venues

I've seen some mild sort-of complaints about Del Mar, mostly in the form of things like 'my horse doesn't seem to like Del Mar,' but I've never seen anything about Santa Anita being 'fluky.' :? Maybe fluky isn't the right word, but SA horses seem to have a huge advantage out there. Mandella had an ...

It will be interesting to see how easily he fills his book. Fact is that in recent history, a horse of his caliber would be lucky to win one TC race, much less sweep them all. But breeders do rush to the latest and greatest, still it will be interesting.......

Re: Breeders Cup Upcoming Venues

A few thoughts - I think broadcast time is an important attraction for Churchill (lights) and SA (time zone) - I hate the SA fluky surface and think it is a horrible place to decide the biggest races of the year. - I don't think NYRA wants to be bothered with hosting. In fact I wouldn't be surprised...

There is no way of knowing if it impacted the final placings, but we do know he was entered as insurance in case so if anyone other than Justify was in the lead, he could press the pace. The syndication deal is being reported at 75 million, and a lot of the connections in this race are getting a pie...

Re: Sports Betting

Most states will screw this up. The odds are long established at bet 6 to win 5. But you have to be willing to take the occasional loss if you want to book bets. States don't have the appitite for any kind of loss. So they will either screw with the odds, say bet 7 to win 5, or they will chrge a com...

Just one year before Brother Derek, perhaps one of the biggest shams of all time when the paparazzi and turf reporters convinced the nation that Bellamy Road was a good thing in the Derby. Sent off as a prohibitive 5/2 shot in the 20 horse field off his victory in the Wood Memorial, Bellamy was a s...
