Re: Breeders’ Cup News & Notes- 2018

Isn't it a little more complex than that? Sociological factors aside, our expectations tend to be self-fulfilling. And if it hasn't been done in a while or seriously tried, it's less likely someone would venture down that road. And while the purses tend to be higher in open company, the fields tend ...

Re: 2019 Stallion Fees

As for the Tapit drop, Horsebagger had asked months ago if anyone had heard the rumors that Tapit was having a hard time getting mares in foal this year. I don't believe anyone responded. I don't think anyone here knew anything else or heard anything more. I remember him asking that, but I haven't ...

Re: 2019 Stallion Fees

My first thought was the competition as well, fertility second. Was just surprised after seeing Tapit drop 75k to see MDO drop as much. I might have thought a 25k drop or so :)

Re: 2019 Stallion Fees

I'm surprised Medaglia d'Oro has gone down. With the way his yearlings were on absolute fire at the sales... I suppose Bolt d'Oro hasn't done really great in the second half of the year and Wonder Gadot's Travers fiasco probably wasn't the best advertisement... (I still think she should've gone for ...

Is the blood on her nostrils from a cut or is she bleeding from the nose?
Either way, on to the Japan Cup! And I imagine maybe the Arima Kinen?

Re: 2018 Pacific Classic @ Del Mar G1 $1MM

My comment wasn't actually in regards specifically to Catholic Boy/Good Magic. It's an extreme example because to me it sort of illustrates how ridiculous and at times, how useless, the 'who did he beat' question is. It's interesting but in this day and age it holds less and less value in my opinion...

If you'd raced Runhappy against Yeats over 6f on dirt and Runhappy had beat Yeats what exactly would that have told you about either horse? Same if you'd raced them over 2 1/2 miles on turf and Yeats had curb-stomped Runhappy?

Re: Across the pond

Too Darn Hot won the Champagne S.(G2), he is a full brother to Lah Ti Dar. Interesting this story says he was injured when he was very young and they thought he wouldn't make the track. Their advisors told them not to even try to sell him at auction, like the Lloyd-Webers do with all their male foa...

Re: Breeders' Cup Top 5

Diversify our of Breeders Cup. Not training up to speed since the Clark. Story in today's TDN.com. Sounds like he has been losing a lot of weight since the JCGC, and of course it doesn't help with Rick being unwell. Hope they both feel better soon. https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/2...

$15,000 seems low for Midnight Lute. He seems to consistently get good runners every year. :?
In spite of this he’s cold at the sales which is probably why.

Lease to own perhaps?
I wonder if Coolmore is trying to get a feel for the Japanese market... they don’t have a Japanese division and they’ve been doing more business with Shadai than ever.

Not surprising if a little disappointing. Sure hope Rick gets better! I think the Pegasus should be in Diversify’s wheelhouse.

What kind of web browser are you using and do you have any extensions enabled (and if so, which ones), or could it be possible you have some sort of extension/wall that is blocking it? Can you see it if you click on this? (direct link to the photo, no article) https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/w...
