Re: Breeders’ Cup News & Notes- 2018

Seems unusually quiet this year.

Are you on the edge of your seat with excitement, having trouble sleeping at night in anticipation of the big day?

Re: Why Bother NYRA?

More stupidity...... Sorry if this is offensive to you. I never said it was offensive, if anything I'm jealous of your ability to post turf or dirt picks for a race and then adjust accordingly after scratches. As I previously mentioned, I enter full card contests early in the day, I get two shots p...

My Picks have been updated for scratches.

Just try and imagine your life without having the ability to do that, and it'll all make more sense.

The Clark Handicap

November 23 Churchill Downs Grade 1 $500,000 1 1/8 (same as the Pegasus!) Asmussen says Bolt 'd Oro is being pointed there. Baffert says there's a chance McKinzie could go there. Mott says Hofburg might be there. Could be a helluva race!!! https://www.horseracingnation.com/news/Bolt_dOro_has_next_ra...

Re: Why Bother NYRA?

I realize your posts are fishing expeditions, NOT I find off-the-turf races to frequently offer great betting value and good opportunities. If you don't, you certainly have the option to play elsewhere....or bitch about it on the internet. Whatever floats your boat. Just FYI.....while the opportuni...

Re: Why Bother NYRA?

Just have to wonder why the racing secretary continues to card turf races?

When were today's races drawn, maybe Monday of this week?

The news of the wet weather was in all the papers and all the TV channels,

what were they thinking?

Re: Breeders’ Cup News & Notes- 2018

Joel Rosario rode Yoshida to victory in the Woodward Stakes at Saratoga last time out, but with Rosario committed to Accelerate for the Breeders' Cup Classic on Nov. 3 at Churchill Downs, the connections of Yoshida needed a replacement. They went to a familar face. Jose Ortiz , who rode Yoshida to v...

Stronach v. Stronach

A bitter and divisive power struggle that has been simmering behind the scenes for years within the Stronach family is about to boil over very publicly in a court of law.

Re: Why Bother NYRA?

Do you ever have fields of 12 entries or so that scratch down 4 because of folks don't like the surface due to weather?

Re: Why Bother NYRA?

I suspect that the owners, trainers, jockeys, grooms, stewards, gate crew, pony riders, medical staff, track maintenance workers, vendors, betting window staff, security, camera crew, cleaning staff and parking attendants might not agree with you. No racing = no income. House painters, construction...

Why Bother NYRA?

There's an olde saying "You Can't Fight Mother Nature"
the question is why does NYRA keep trying?

Just cancel the damn card when races become unplayable for the folks putting their wages through the windows.

Well, for Pletcher, I guess it should be one of Florida's preps for the KY Derby.
Xpressbet would probably be willing to forego their name being on the Florida Derby, he's won 5 of those so far, the TAP makes logical sense.

Re: Jockey/Trainer News - 2018

Time to look into your crystal ball a few years or maybe a decade or two from now. We recently saw another running of the Lukas Stakes, a G3 event going 1 1/8 for 3+up and with Biscuits winning I suppose Churchill may be on their way to getting that to be a G1 event for all time, deserving. But what...

Anytime you have a race called The Breeders Futurity G1 for two year olds and the favorite runs up the track and the winner pays $142.00 tells you we might be in for quite a show Nov 2, 3.

Dear Czarina, There's some new technology out there (see football) that would really be helpful to horseplayers..... On the TV screen, can you please paint an imaginary line across the track where the finish line is? Just watched a head-on replay of an inquiry where the bumping was near the finish l...
