Re: 2018 Two-year-olds

I wonder when Bob plans on introducing us to his 2YO star in the barn? You don't think it's Coliseum? (unless I misread your post) Baffert almost said as much when interviewed yesterday prior to the race. Basically said something like Coliseum was the best of the 2yos he had received into this barn...

Re: Accelerate vs Justify HOTY

Peeptoad, I didn’t completely finish my point regarding Accelerate and the fact the best horses of his crop having been retired. I’ve seen the argument bouncing around that Accelerate should win HOY to send a message to various connections that retire their horses at a time some deem as early. I wa...

Re: Accelerate vs Justify HOTY

However, I just can't quite buy that Good Magic was Justify's Sham, or that his Preakness quite matched Slew's. For one, the article above mentions a rail bias at Pimlico in 1977, which made Slew's task that much tougher. This year, the rail was dead and outside speed had a substantial advantage. G...

Re: Breeders' Cup Picks and Analysis

Ha, you know think I've been betting on Gunnevera since his Florida Derby and I've never won a cent on him! I just love how he always steps up when people least expect it. He'll win his G1 some day... probably on the day I finally toss him. Wish I'd listened to you on Thunder Snow peep, that was a ...

Re: Breeders' Cup Picks and Analysis

-Gunnevera rules. Huh, yeah. Since it's the second time in a row that he's screwed an exact of mine I'll take a different stance. ;) That Woodward exacta would have paid dividends to if Gunn hadn't nipped Leofric for 2nd. Nice job with Shamrock though; I had her 'capped as fourth best in there. Did...

Re: Accelerate vs Justify HOTY

If I voted I'd vote Accelerate, but I think Justify is a shoe-in for the award, honestly. I can't see the majority of voters going elsewhere in a TC year...

Well I was wrong about Monomoy Girl, though Wonder Gadot carried them a ways. Of course I bet Blue Prize who also.failed .

Wonderful piece for Uriah St. Lewis and the family.

Backing, kicking and refusing, even blindfolded, Wild Illusion is expending a lot of energy. :(
And then she knocked Paved sideways about 100 yds out of the gate. Though she ran well.otherwise.
Good for Chad, though he had about 20% of the field to work with

Re: Breeders' Cup Watchalong Thread

City of Light's stud fee just went up. Good for him, and congratulations, Tessablue! Thank you, and I'm sorry to everyone for being so annoying about it! Just having a couple of days I never would have dreamed of. Going to quiet down now and just enjoy the races. City of Light was fantastic, I'm so...

Props to those who backed City of Light. I didn't feel strongly about him here, despite his CV. Props to Lukas getting Bravazo into the show spot

Re: Breeders' Cup Watchalong Thread

Can't believe World of Trouble is the fav for the turf sprint... if you like the reigning champ you're getting a bang up price Right?? And Disco Partner second-favored at 7-2! Can't complain, but never would have seen it coming. Some drama in the paddock now, it seems. They had to replace a shoe on...

Re: Breeders' Cup Watchalong Thread

"He reminds me of my mom's cat." Small, feisty orange tabby? I really hope he stays up. That contact hurt him more than the larger Uncle Benny. He is definitely a small, feisty orange tiger... plus he purposely makes his "task" more difficult by diving between chair rungs, etc to chase toys i...

Re: Breeders' Cup Picks and Analysis

FM Sprint - Selcourt, Miss Sunset, Marley's Freedom Trying to get a longshot into the mix, but I won't be betting this one. Turf Sprint - Hembree He won me $ last out so I'll stay with him. The added 1/2f on the turf sprints this year should suit him. I'll also like Stormy Liberal and Rainbow Heir....
