Re: 2018 Keeneland November Sale

I really don't see what other people are seeing on her hooves? I thought it was maybe shine or just some padding. https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/230565/arrogates-half-sister-goes-for-750-000 zoom in. REALLY zoom in. look at the bottom of the hooves. you can see the shine on the ho...

Re: 2018 Keeneland November Sale

On the FT thread, Northport asked, " Am I nuts for thinking that a Tapit half sister to Arrogate is kind of a deal at $750,000?" In the Bloodhorse article about her sale, the photo shows that the filly is shod on all four feet. Shoes on a WEANLING? The Comments after the article do not have...

Re: 2018 Keeneland September Yearling Sale

As soon as you cut into a horse's intestine to remove an impaction or perform a resection, the horse is automatically more likely to colic again. Once there is a seam that gets stitched up in the intestine, the scar tissue becomes a 'speedbump' of sorts along the gut, which can lead to another impa...

Re: 2018 foals

About 7:40am Eastern, it looks like a vet is doing something with La Verdad's filly. Hard to be sure, but maybe an ultrasound around her right shoulder area. Then they turned the foal around and are doing the same thing on the left side. Does anyone know what the procedure might be? Foal is not a h...

Re: 2016 Names

Thanks all for the suggestions! I did submit Talking Leaves for this filly!. A little bit of a Cherokee connection, and I thought it was a pretty enough name for her!

Re: 2016 Names

Anyone want to help me name a filly? Souper Speedy - Cherokee Lynn filly born on Valentine's day. Tried to die at three days old, had a bit of a rough start, last foal out of her dam (lost her last year) but is an absolute sweetheart of a filly. Barn name is Cora. https://scontent.fybz2-2.fna.fbcdn....

Re: Coat Colors in Foreign Languages

Had a quick lookup of the pedigree of this mare - her sire is listed as chestnut, and her dam as a bay - so genetically those are your two options. I actually found a photo of her sire . There is a duplicate entry on the pedigree query site that has an alternate spelling for the mare Prery Marie tha...

Re: New Conformation Photos

He looks as solid as the proverbial grey brick s*******e. Interesting that he only managed 6 starts before injury, and 4 of his well bred siblings are unraced. Makes one wonder if it's a soundness issue via the dam, or some other unrelated circumstances... I believe C.Culinate was injured in a frea...

Re: Keeneland November Sale

Horses I've been following that now look like they are done racing... Kid Cruz, Norumbega, Top Billing. All had good careers, were more promising than their record shows, but had injuries. All could be nice stallions regionally. Someone in Ontario should buy Reload - his half brother Philanthropist...

Re: BRISnet issues?

I still haven't been able to access their stallion directory, was wondering if it is just my computer/connection, or if it's like that for everybody?

Re: Stallion News

''Equine Herpes''??? This surprised me but I wonder if Racing Post (Michele MacDonald?) can simply be incorrect if they are not true veterinary experts. We don't know yet exactly what kind of illness King Kamehameha suffered as Shadai has never published it. I wonder if even Shadai has not found th...

Re: Registering rabicanos

I feel your pain! Coat colour genetics and inheritance is pretty simple for the grey horses. That said, just clicking on the grey box would have been much easier than having to describe all the white on my 2014 colt! He is a heavily marked rabicano, and his description for his papers is an essay! Bu...
