Schramsberg has had a couple of impressive winners the past few days.

Yesterday, Remarkable Vintage, a first time starter, easily won a MSW for 2YOs by 12 1/4 lengths! He completed the 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:17.54, a half second off the track record. (I watched the replay and my favorite thing is a few seconds before the video ends, you can hear someone off camera say, "He can really run" :D ). http://www.equibase.com/premium/chartEm ... y=CAN&rn=5

Today, Head of the Herd won a 6 1/2 furlong claiming race by 9 1/4 lengths! The 3YO filly now has a lifetime record of 6-2-0-0. http://www.equibase.com/premium/chartEm ... y=CAN&rn=4

Both race replays may be viewed at Century Downs' website: https://www.cnty.com/centurydowns/racet ... ve-stream/

The Report of Mares Bred is available. Schramsberg was bred to 17 mares this year.

I was a bit disappointed in that- Think his first year he was like 68, then like 35 or so last year.

I wouldn't read too much into it. There were only 269 mares bred in Alberta this year, with highest number going to a stallion being 41 (Exhi). The average book was 13 mares (median 8). So he's on the higher end.

Plus, he's at a fantastic place, being at Bar None. I've been in contact with them a bit and they described him as "definitely every bit as tough as Serena". They described his foals as having "the early speed and power with a bit easier temperament". They're very excited about Remarkable Vintage, particularly after his win in the Canadian Juvenile Stakes yesterday!

That was a nice article- I know very little about the CA tracks- with the exception of Woodbine.
