I was wrong about JH beating him by a nose. It was the JCGC and JH won by a length!
Some how (even tho i was there)i thought that it was closer than that!!But reading about the race it was a length.

because you said this, I can easily find the answer, Peat Moss, 137lbs. I will not lie, I have never heard of this horse before.

That is very neat. I see he was a gelding but he had a very nice pedigree. I love learning about horses and trivia. The end of his career is odd, raced 4 times in 5 years.

This ancestor of Man O War was named after his owner's wife, while his year younger full brother was named after the owner. The owner told his wife he wanted to name one of his coming 2yos after her. She got her revenge a year later when naming a full brother after her husband. Name the horses.

That was tricky; I thought about Spendthrift but mis-read the question so many times I thought I was looking for a female ancestor!

Ok, how about this one: Of all horses that have one 2 Prix de L'Arc de Triomphes, only one did not win in CONSECUTIVE years. Name the horse and the years in which it won.

1930 and 1932 Motrico! I know this as I posted it in the Arc thread! He was sent to stud after his first win but after coming back infertile, he went back to racing in 32 and won the Arc again!
