I am really excited to see Little Mike back in form! What an exciting race! Big Blue Kitten is extremely talented as well! He has really great turn of foot

Someone posted in another thread, that they were surprised this race didn't already have its own thread. I was surprised that both of the big turf races at Belmont (Flower Bowel and Hirsch) did not have threads. I guess people aren't as interested in turf races? I thought this was a bang-up race!

Who was eased? Looked like one of the Ramsey horses.

Joe's Blazing Aaron. They pretty much admitted he was the rabbit, though.

Ah ok, makes sense.... not used to seeing a pacemaker in American racing.

Big Blue Kitten would have taken it if not for the slight traffic problem at the top of the stretch.

Thought this was an interesting quote from the race:
http://blogs.courier-journal.com/racing/2013/09/28/mike-mike-show-smith-guides-little-mike-to-joe-hirsch-score/

“I was handicapping the race and after looking at it I told [trainer] Dale [Romans] that Little Mike’s best race, in the Breeders’ Cup Turf last year, was when he was off the pace,” said Smith. “So I decided I was going to ride this horse the way Ramon [Dominguez] rode him [in the Breeders' Cup]. I can mimic all these jocks; I know how they all hold their hands. Ramon always puts one on the neck and one way out, and he’s brilliant at it. So I did it, and he kept running and running and running. It worked! My hat’s off to Ramon Dominguez.”
