Trevor Denman will be calling all of the Breeders' Cup races for the fans at Santa Anita, the Breeders' Cup Simulcast Network on calracing.com, breederscup.com, and xpressbet.com, RTN, and in satellite wagering facilities across the nation, and on Horse Racing Radio Network live, while Larry Collmus, who will be calling all of these races exclusively on NBC Sports Network and NBC. Another way to say this, is that Trevor's live call of all the Breeders' Cup races from 2013 are available anywhere except the two NBC networks. Any comments regarding on this topic?

I'm glad NBC is providing us with an alternative to Trevor. He's just not my cup of tea.

The truth is I am perfectly normal, and by the way, I found an article about the security at the Breeders' Cup.

Although the article did not talk about the security guards and police officers in other areas at the Santa Anita Racetrack's Autumn Racing Meet on Breeders' Cup Friday and Breeders' Cup Saturday, I hope that nobody gets arrested today, and nobody gets arrested on Breeders' Cup Saturday.

Race One on Friday, Trev almost did it again....concentrating on the horse in the middle of the track making a move in the stretch (eventual winner #8 Pure Loyalty) he darn near completely missed the horse down on the rail who moved BEFORE the winner and briefly got the lead, the 4 Somethings Unusual. He caught himself and saw it this time, but very close to a blown call on the big day, I think it's because of the way he wears his binoculars and focuses on the horse he thinks is going best and the rail is not in focus.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

I can't criticize any of them for screwing up a call as it's better than I'd ever do. Their product leaves little room for error as it's produced instantaneously with no chance for repairing it.

That said, Trevor seems to do it more than many of the other callers considered to be in the upper echelon. His voice annoys me more than the screwups, next in the annoyance factor is the repetitious calls. I just turn down the volume when he's calling.

Larry uses index cards to help keep things straight, perhaps the others also do. He posted a pic of one on his twitter feed: https://twitter.com/larrycollmus

To be positive, Mr. Denman has been a positive voice in horse welfare.

We will now receive an epistle to the Romans from mchrsecall defending his idol against ther critique of him you just gave.

After awhile it just gets annoyingly boring. It becomes a turn off of Mr. Denman from those who had no opinion of him one way or another.

I will be hear Trevor's call of all the Breeders' Cup races in about seventy five minutes, it will be live on the Breeders' Cup Simulcast Network on breederscup.com, xpressbet.com, calracing.com, RTN, on Horse Racing Radio Network, and for the fans at Santa Anita.

You gave us the wrong article, Waquoit, this article is about the champion steeplechase racehorse from England, Denman, not the Breeders' Cup Announcer for the on-track broadcast, Trevor Denman. The horse is not even named after the announcer.

I don't like Trevor's way of announcing races; but I am sure he's a nice guy IRL. I chose to watch NBC Sports Network and listen to Larry Collmus all day, for what it's worth.

The Marathon call was like any other race I have ever heard from Trevor. He says the SAME stuff over and over. Completely missed Ever Rider being pulled up. 2nd race was similar. He butchered Brujo De Oleros's name, and when they crossed the finish line he messed up, by saying "Mike Strip", but corrected himself. Dirt Mile was the best of the three, but still repetitive phrasing. Yawn, there's no passion in his calls.

Collmus makes me feel the excitement, and you can tell he feels it too. Shades of Durkin in his prime. I just prefer Larry, and I honestly can't stand Trevor as an announcer. To me, he sounds like nails on a chalkboard. I would watch the Breeder's Cup track feed in California instead of network TV coverage if, and only if Vic Stauffer was the announcer. And obviously, if Hollywood Park hosted. I'd love to hear Vic call a Breeder's Cup race. All in all, just my honest opinion. :)

and i'm not overly fond of bataglia [sp?], or durkin anymore. but i don't make thread after thread and post after post about it. we all have our preferences and we aren't going to change each others' minds (and most of us don't care enough to try anyway). you don't like him. that's nice. anything else to talk about, or are you as repetitive as he is?

ioya; this isn't directed at you, but rather at mchorseracewhiner.

Larry Collmus gave much better calls in all of them.

As an aside, it annoyed me that I still heard the drone of Denman in the background of the NBC feed. It was as distracting as a bunch of dirtbikes in the background and about the same tone. I wish NBC would fix that.

I don't mind Trevor, I like the sound of his voice and it makes me think of sunny California racing. He does have great calls whenever he's passionate about the result. Zenyatta's two Classic races, for example, were full of emotion. If he doesn't have his heart on the line, it's just another everyday racecall for him.

If that happens, there will be threats against Larry Collmus's life, and there would be riots against Vic Stauffer by disgruntled fans who wanted to hear Trevor's call in all of the Breeders' Cup races. Good thing about yesterday is that nobody got arrested at the Santa Anita Racetrack's Autumn Racing Meet on Breeders' Cup Friday.

I have a lot of respect for race callers in general. I couldn't do it, not a bit.

I dont mind Denman, but my fave is The Durk. I also have a soft spot for Tony Calo amd happen to like Keith Jones' voice.
