Bummer. Caracortado scratched. Surprise, surprise -- foot issue.

That is a bummer about Caracortado. He was one of my top picks for the race. Bad hooves suck.

According to Machowsky: been fighting a "popped gravel on coronet band" last few days. (Via Marty McGee)

He was off a long time before this due to foot issues. I hope this doesn't cause him another long layoff...or he's going to be too old to run by the time he comes back. ;)
It's too bad, because he is crazy fast...but it does make this race easier for the fillies I like, Mizdirection and Reneesgotzip.

I b*tch about the added races, but this one I actually enjoy. Looking forward to this one!

It's cool that the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place horses from last year are all back and just as good.

Strange not seeing California Flag in here. He was like Better Talk Now, you just expected him to be in the race.

I'm so glad that NBC is treating us to an analysis of the Classic, rather than focusing on one of the most fun and competitive of today's races.

Whatever. Miz over Boat and Have.

I like him too. Along with Mizdirection, Chips All In and Unbridled's Note. I'm not exactly adverse to Capo Bastone.

Although really.. I kind of hope that I get beat by Jeranimo.

Mizdirection, Reneesgotzip, and now that Caracortado scratched I can go with Unbridled's Note (originally my fourth choice).

Tightend Touchdown you surly bastard. I have lost money because of you all year. You are not supposed to be good going this long.

Mizdirection is such a beast.

Mizdirection!

Nice win, but again this is really starting to water down the exclusivity of being a dual Breeders' Cup race winner..

I see a silver lining--quality horses running multiple seasons successfully and proving their champion status where they should.

Eh, Groupie Doll would've won if this was at Churchill or Belmont, too. Mizdirection, maybe not.
