That should sell the event out.

Are you not fond of the horse? Or of the new turf race? :?
Or both? :P

This question wasn't for me but I've never voiced my opinion on the PWC.

I think a rich, winner takes all race sounds neat. However, this race will forever skew the "highest earners of all time" list.

Accelerate, City of Light and Monomoy Girl, Yoshida, Gunnevera, and Seeking The Soul are on the possible list.

I'd expect Mind Your Biscuits may still show up. His trainer has been talking about it non stop for months. Though I guess him having to go into quarantine/ship to Japan may muddle things a bit.

Is that, I hope, a joke?
Or was 'Biscuits offered a spot in the Japan Dirt Cup (or whatever it's called now), and they actually thinking of going?
ETA: OK, ignore the above. I had a brain buzz and forgot that the Posse colt was heading to Japan to stand at stud.

Baffert?
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

What older horse does Baffert have in his barn for whom it is worth buying a slot? McKinzie didn't impress in the Classic, and West Coast is now at Lane's End. Is he retired-retired, or is there a possibility that he might target the Pegasus if he was doing great?
I know that Accelerate is just getting some down time there, before heading back to training in CA. I

Only horse I can think of is Dabster who ran in the Marathon. Where is Mubtaahij?

Then there's Solomini I guess, but I still think he's on the shelf.

He has like no one over the age of 3 now.

Wasn't Elate mentioned as a possible for this race, or am I making that up?

After last year, it seems unlikely too many people will buy slots when they know they can essentially get in for free if they wait until the end.

If I’m not mistaken once you’ve bought a slot you get to keep it unless you resell it to someone else or the PWC committee.
I know Coolmore held its slot for the first two runnings.

Sooo...is Accelerate just at Lane's End right now so breeders can get a look at him and then he's going back to Sadler?

That's what was said while TVG was showing Accelerate arriving at Lane's End and being walked around before heading for his stall in the stallion barn. He's there to audition for interested breeders, get some R&R and then head back into training in CA.

I don't know how much clearer they can make it.

Accelerate, West Coast Arrive at Lane's End
Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) winner is only making a stop, then returning to training.
Lane's End will launch the careers of three powerful new stallions next year, two of which were welcomed to the farm Nov. 4.
Accelerate , who captured the Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) the previous day at Churchill Downs, and 2017 champion 3-year-old male West Coast arrived at the operation near Versailles, Ky., to be available for inspection by breeders. They will be joined on the roster in 2019 by multiple grade 1 winner City of Light , who wowed racing fans Nov. 3 with a near gate-to-wire victory in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1).
Accelerate, a 5-year-old son of Lookin At Lucky , will be at the farm four to five days for inspections, then he will return to John Sadler's barn in Southern California, where he'll continue training toward a possible start in the $9 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1) at Gulfstream Park.
(my bolding)
