The president of the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association has been accused of injecting racehorses with alcohol 75 times, charging $15 a shot and writing it off as a “pre-race adjustment.” Jay Stewart faces four misdemeanor counts of attempting to influence a race by tampering with horses on four occasions.

Just when you think you've heard everything. Now this is a person that should have his license taken away for good.

Yep. This is the first I've heard of injecting it, at least recently.

A few years ago two or three very small-time trainers were nabbed in the SW for tubing horses to give them vodka. They told the vet who discovered them doing it that it was simply "carb-loading." ROTFL.

And who was the trainer whose groom got nabbed with a syringe (I think, oral) of vodka at a KY track, just a couple of years ago?

Sigh. When we can't even trust the president of a state Veterinary Medical Association, who can we trust in this sport?
