Letang will sit out game 4.

In more amusing news:
The Stanley Cup Playoffs bring out the rivalries in many cities. Sometimes those rivalries extend to off the ice. Sometimes they involve zoos and elephant poop.

OK, maybe they don't involve elephant poop all the time, but for the Dallas Stars-St. Louis Blues series, there’s definitely some of that involved.

The respective zoos of St. Louis and Dallas agreed to a friendly wager on Twitter last week where the loser’s vice president would have to travel to the winner’s zoo, don a jersey and hat of the victorious team and shovel 250 pounds (!) of elephant poop.

Steen, Backes score twice as Blues rout Stars

This time, the St. Louis Blues knew what to do with a two-goal lead. Go for more, more, more.

Alexander Steen and David Backes had two goals apiece, and the defense put the clamps on the Dallas Stars in a 6-1 victory that put the Blues up 2-1 in the second-round series Tuesday.

Cody Eakin scores in OT as Stars beat Blues to tie series

In short order, the Dallas Stars went from embarrassed to triumphant.

Cody Eakin scored at 2:58 of overtime and the Stars beat the St. Louis Blues 3-2 on Thursday night, bouncing back smartly from a blowout loss two days earlier to tie the second-round series at two games apiece.

My team was embarrassed early. I knew they should have kept Talbot and let the chips fall where they may with Lundqvist.

Not really following much after that but I'm hoping the Blues take it.
I don't think the horses can read the toteboard.

What if you can't grow a beard?
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Blues cruise in Game 7 to reach conference finals

The captain and the kid are going to the Western Conference finals with the St. Louis Blues.

St. Louis did more than survive Game 7 this time. The Blues routed the top-seeded Dallas Stars 6-1 on Wednesday night to advance to their first Western Conference finals since 2001.

Sharks dominate in Game 7 win vs. Predators, reach West finals

Captain Joe Pavelski and the rest of San Jose's big guns took little time to answer the questions about how this version of the Sharks would respond after a lackluster loss in a potential series clincher.

Lightning prevail over Pens to open East finals

The sight of their franchise goalie writhing in agony did little to slow down the Tampa Bay Lightning.

How could it? Watching the bold-faced names on their roster be taken off the ice with their long-term statuses unknown has become commonplace for perhaps the NHL's most resilient team. When Vezina Trophy finalist Ben Bishop left Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals Friday night in the first period with a left leg injury, the Lightning wished him well and went right back to work.
