Victor Hedman, Ben Bishop power Lightning back to conference finals

Victor Hedman and Ben Bishop lifted the Tampa Bay Lightning into the Eastern Conference finals for the second straight year.

Hedman scored twice and Bishop stopped 28 shots Sunday to help the defending conference champions beat the New York Islanders 4-0 and end their second-round playoff series in five games.

Blues cruise in Game 7 to reach conference finals

The captain and the kid are going to the Western Conference finals with the St. Louis Blues.

St. Louis did more than survive Game 7 this time. The Blues routed the top-seeded Dallas Stars 6-1 on Wednesday night to advance to their first Western Conference finals since 2001.

Dallas just got thrashed (twice even!). Wheels were so far off the bus they could've entered low earth orbit.

Sharks dominate in Game 7 win vs. Predators, reach West finals

Captain Joe Pavelski and the rest of San Jose's big guns took little time to answer the questions about how this version of the Sharks would respond after a lackluster loss in a potential series clincher.

Oh man, poor Ben Bishop. I did not need to see all the different angles in replay after replay, NBCSN. Sheesh.

Lightning prevail over Pens to open East finals

The sight of their franchise goalie writhing in agony did little to slow down the Tampa Bay Lightning.

How could it? Watching the bold-faced names on their roster be taken off the ice with their long-term statuses unknown has become commonplace for perhaps the NHL's most resilient team. When Vezina Trophy finalist Ben Bishop left Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals Friday night in the first period with a left leg injury, the Lightning wished him well and went right back to work.
