I've never understood why we keep on giving money to other countries when we need it here.

Our country is so illogical, so broken. This is why the people are so ticked.

Probably because it's terrible to be concerned about just yourself.

If you're broke, you don't borrow $109 to give to charity and put yourself further in the hole.

It's one thing to send food aid or extremely necessary aid, and entirely another to send "anti-climate change" aid. What do you really figure that accomplishes? It's $840m down the drain. Rein in the billions we give to other countries until WE aren't in debt, THEN we can give.

As Donald Trump would say "that's peanuts" Do you know the U.S. gives over 3 billion a year
in aid to Israel each year. Don't know if just for defense but here is a quote: We emailed Shmuel Even, an expert of Israel's defense at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, who told us that Israel's up-to-date defense budget for 2012 is $15 billion, with 70 percent contributed by Israeli taxpayers, 21 percent coming from U.S. aid and 9 percent coming from Defense Ministry income.

It isn't money well spent, there's just too many Jewish lobbyist.
It's a very rich country already.

All the peanuts add up. I don't understand why we support the world. We can't afford it. I'd love to get my hands in a budget. I promise I could have us bringing in more than we spend.

That aid might end up paying dividends, not just for the other countries, but also for us.
If it is to support other countries' efforts to reduce carbon emissions, the results won't just impact that other country. Ocean pollution and rising sea levels don't stop at the International boundary; they will also have negative effects on OUR fisheries and OUR coastlines.

We can play 6° from Kevin Bacon and everything could be considered politics. Partisan politics talk is the problem.

You're not making it to the election without a revival of that forum.

Of course they are all happy, they get to tap into the US tax base. They love it, free money that they don't have to work for and they can still say the US is a bunch of pigs, the great satan, etc.

I agree, we need to worry about our own country first. Many of the third world countries are run by dirtbags, who steal any and all aid given their country by foreign govt's and the people never see the benefits, and are still starving, while the leaders are living high off the hog. Kinda like here in this country, the political elites live the high life while most of us struggle to make ends meet.

It's just another means of wealth redistribution.

I saw this article on Facebook, it sort of makes sense. Lots of odd obscure things on that page.

I don't even care that it's anti-climate change. Other than the military, we need to cut back in every other bit of unnecessary spending. It doesn't matter to me if it's something I'm all "pro" about like animal welfare, we don't have the money to send $840 million to reduce poaching in Africa.

What countries give US money? I just don't understand why we (and by that, I mean every Dem and Repub administration) keeps doling out the money to other countries. We can't possibly be getting back enough with these bribes.
