How NASCAR will deal without Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the track

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has gone out of his way, whenever talking about his retirement from full-time NASCAR Cup Series racing, to say that his departure won't leave a void in the sport, that NASCAR has plenty of young drivers to excite fans.

Austin Dillon wins Daytona 500 in the No. 3 two decades after Dale Earnhardt

The No. 3 is No. 1 again at Daytona, on a day, in a race and at a place forever linked with the great Dale Earnhardt.

Austin Dillon won the Daytona 500 on Sunday night driving the iconic No. 3 Chevrolet that Earnhardt piloted for most of his career. Earnhardt was behind the wheel of No. 3 when he won his only Daytona 500 in 1998, and when he was killed in an accident on the final lap of the race three years later.

Only 36 to drive in NASCAR Cup race at Atlanta Motor Speedway

NASCAR will have its smallest Cup field in more than 21 years when 36 cars take the green flag for the race at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday.

NASCAR has not had a 36-car field since the September 1996 race at Martinsville Speedway, where the field was limited to 36 starters. There were 42 entries for that race.

Kevin Harvick takes Xfinity Series win at Atlanta yet again

For Joey Logano, the final four-second margin behind Kevin Harvick felt more like a full lap.

Harvick led 141 of 163 laps Saturday for his fifth NASCAR Xfinity series victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway and fourth in the past six years.

Will the Matt Kenseth, Roush Fenway reunion produce positive results?

Matt Kenseth's so-called retirement is over. Kenseth, who lost his ride at Joe Gibbs Racing after the 2017 season, struck a deal with Roush Fenway Racing on April 25. The 2003 Cup champ will drive select races, starting this weekend at Kansas Speedway (Saturday, 8 p.m. ET, FS1).
