Toast of New York has been gelded. He left the country after running in the Pegasus World Cup and upon returning would have to pass quarantine again. Since he was previously used as a breeding stallion, they had 2 choices, cover mares and wait 1 month or keep him under 24 hour surveillance the entire time he is in the US, so that he wouldn't accidentally cover any mares. Being that they were planning to do an extended US campaign the rest of the year, the owner instead chose to geld him so he would only have to stay in 24 hour quarantine.

From the article when he returned to racing it said "he covered 15 or so mares in Doha and got 10 in foal. There wasn't the support for him as a stallion."

Qatar isn't a big Thoroughbred breeder though so it makes sense there wasn't a lot of support. Also I don't know how to look at Qatar thoroughbreds. I found their Stud Book but none of the pages have anything at all, they just say, coming soon or something similar.
