Well at least the Bloodhorse got it right.. LOL

I would put even Caleb's BC win over this. By the way there's a great article on the Von Hemel dynasty in the DRF.

I can't remember if I voted for Rapid Redux or Havre De Grace beating the boys in the Woodward.

People must've gotten mixed up and voted for the "Oh crap, who? Let me see your Form" of the year.

I would have voted for BL vs HdG myself. Oy.

But since five people saw that and the masses saw the BC, they voted for BC.

There were more than 5 people at Delaware Park on the afternoon of July 16th...

Wasn't attendance way down at the BC this year...while it was up for the Del Cap...

Churchill Downs also saw a significant decline in attendance on Saturday compared to last year, from 72,739 in 2010 to 65,143 this year. Both declines in attendance and handle can be attributed in large part to the surges last year created by Zenyatta’s historic attempt to retire undefeated with a second Classic win.

I was there for Zenyatta last year at the BC...and declined to go this year...many folks likely felt the same way...

The estimated attendance was much greater than it was for last year's effort...

    15,000 this year...

And I was there last year for the DelCap and it did not have near the crowd it did this year...

What was the national television rating for the DelCap in 2011?

You know Man o' Taz, if there is a Moment of Obtuse Poster of the Year award, I don't think you even stand a vote. Just engrave it with "MOT" and go.

I was going to start to explain humor (but when you do that you know you've already failed to be funny to the audience at hand) or I was going to seriously explain that the voters in NTRA Moment of the Year didn't attend either race by and large, they watched on TV if they watched at all, and the Del Cap could only be found up the dial on a horseracing channel. I could even explain the difference between 65k and 15k in live attendance if I thought that was relevant, which it isn't.

But really, why, I could just beat my head against a brick wall and lose less blood than I would trying to converse with you here, right?

Grace and Blind Luck in the Delaware was my pick. Two great campaigners slugging it out and running their brains out right down to the wire. I love both of these mares, and their "rivalry" provided me with much entertainment last year.

I think that deserves second...just because as impressive as it was the result was never in doubt whereas the result in the Del Cap...you just didn't know...at least I didn't...

I'd put the BC Classic result down around 5 or 6...

I would put Caleb's Posse's win in the BC Dirt Mile third...

And I thought either Hansen's or My Miss Aurelia's performance in the BC was pretty spectacular for fourth...BC two year olds...

Sixth I'd put Royal Delta's Ladies Classic even though she was the favorite...

Seventh - Animal Kingdom's Kentucky Derby...

    Eight...Uncle Mo's Kelso...

Ninth...Cape Blanco win in at Arlington...

    Tenth....Acclamation's Pacific Classic...

Re: NTRA votes Drosselmeyer win voted 2011 Moment of the Year

These are the same fans that praised Zenyatta as the savior of the game. So now people don't like their choice. It doesn't make them more or less knowledgable about the game.

Before people get too hysterical, think about it.

Re: NTRA votes Drosselmeyer win voted 2011 Moment of the Year

It was definitely the biggest *** moment of the year. Or at least when I found at the results it was more like "really, again?". It could be worse. I think I voted for MTB's Derby for similar reasons.

The NTRA has no love lost for BC, Rick. And the vote, stuffed or not, is made by fans.

Thinair, you made me think that the moment of the year should have been Zenyatta winning HOY last January. Her disciples whiffed one.
