Not sure if these are 100% wild donkeys. They roam the desert near a town called Aberdeen in California. My dad swears they are wild, but their feet looked trimmed to me.
In these photos they are in a "field" that is, at least on one side, fenched in with barbed wire

I love donkeys! They are extremely precocious and friendly. I think there is a place in Arizona (Gilman?) where they roam free.
