    Why we have mares

A lot of us on this board have broodmares, and part of the fun with them is following their families, and hoping we get nice updates on the page due to no fault of our own. Well, I just got a pretty terrific update on one of mine mares, as her sister produced Ron The Greek, who is now a Grade one winner.

Its these little "happy days" that keep us doing this.

Thanks, Im pretty excited. Im usually never on the good end of updates, so Im really enjoying this one. Ive watched Ron The Greek ever since he broke his maiden at Hoosier Park like a monster. Never thought he'd come back this year like he has, but he's got the Mott Magic going on there.

    Whew....Im happy!

Congratulations on your terrific news! I remember when you were following him two years ago. He really has lived up to his potential.

I'm waiting on some CA blacktype for a couple of my filly's "cousins."

Thanks.....this has been a fun ride with this mare, because another one of her sisters produced Musket Man, so this family just goes from strength to strength.

I hope I dont screw up this one....

Who is she being bred to this year? Is she the one you had in foal to Congrats last year?

Yes, unbelieveably so. Im counting days on her right now to A.P. Warrior. Im doing the A.P. Indy thing with her, since it obviously worked with her sis.

You are doing well with picking young sires, Halo.

I wont tell you about the other sires that I picked that I practically ruined my mares with.

LOL. You are making up for it now, and maybe right into a rising market. Good for you and your mares!

Congratulations. Hope you have many more "happy days". I always thought of my broodmares as treasure chests, you never knew what they held. And the same goes for their family lines.
