Isnt there anyone with deep enough pockets to get this horse back home? Come on, Ill kick in a couple of hundred, lets get him back.
Between him and Forty Niner, really a huge loss to our breeding industry.

Ha! I'd send half the broodmare band to him at this point.
Nobody said giving Kirstie Alley a colonic would be easy.
Maybe Darley or Coolmore, but I doubt they would.
I wish he was still here. ::sigh:: Our loss was their gain, on both him and Forty Niner.
we keep sending our best stock to other countries. no wonder we're falling behind.
I doubt he is for sale for any price now. But I would have said that before, too.
You know, just because he's a leading sire here, doesnt mean he will be there. Very different mare population, and it might not be what he needs. Look at the dam sire line of his best horses here,
Acoma (Danzig), Country Star (Metfield), Grace Hall (Ezzoud (IRE), Icon Project (Lord at War), Magical Feeling (Forestry), Mushka (Seeking the Gold), Pioneer (Lord at War), Royal Delta (AP Indy). Maybe he does best with our speedier mare population.
Maybe they will just hate him and send him home.....
Interestingly enough, the Japanese were actively pursuing every Empire Maker with earnest at the 2 yo in training sales. Save us some!

His strike rate with Lord At War mares (granted, with very GOOD LAT mares) is amazing. Five of racing age, 2 G1 winners and a stakes placed winner.
They might be old, but I'd be buying them all up and running to him if I were his Japanese interests.

I saw EM up close and personal in NY...Wood M, especially... and in the Belmont S.
Impressive, good looking, tall, rangly horse with "alot of scope" as a 3yr old when I saw him. I bet he has filled out and will probably sire distance horses both on dirt and turf. Big loss.
He'll become "the new SS".
I know this is off topic, but how is his daughter, Country Star doing?
I wanted to track her babies, but I haven't found any records.
If she is still a Darley mare, she is likely in Ireland or England if exported. But I suppose Japan is possible, too, since they have an operation there, too.
I'd lean toward Japan, she has no foals listed with the Jockey Club. Foals that are born in England and Ireland are listed with the US Jockey Club the year after they are foaled. However, she could just be a hard luck mare.
Country Star doesn't show up in the Japanese Studbook as an imported mare. I think she is in the UK or Ireland.
Exactly what has Empire Maker done this year on the TC trail?
Not much.
Empire Way, dud
Exothermic, injured
Bodemeister- yet to jump to the top
