    With all the attention and bravado given to SeeThe Stars , I must have read mention of Mill Reef at least a dozen
    time recently, and how he beat to better horses.They say he devoured his competition and left fans who came to see him in awe.
    I know he made England very proud , deservedly so!!!

    I"ve searched and can't find a photo of the lovely Terpsichorist ! Until then her Daddy will represent her.

    Brigadier Gerard was better. :tongue:

    Seriously though, it's such a shame that Mill Reef and the Brigadier never faced each other again after the 2,000 Guineas, and that Mill Reef's 4yo season was cut short (thank god they managed to save him).

    Love that inscription on Mill Reef's statue at the National Stud:

    Swift as a bird I flew down many a course.
    Princes, Lords, Commoners all sang my praise.
    In victory or defeat I played my part.
    Remember me, all men who love the Horse,
    If hearts and spirits flag in after days;
    Though small, I gave my all. I gave my heart.

    Why do you call Mill Reef "a Euro horse" -he was born in the USA - Nijinsky was born in Canada. Is it because they raced in the U.K.?

    yes, that's what I ment. I was given a racing picture book as a young child, and it featured Euro runners. I also remember seeing quite a bit about Arkle in that particular book.
