Thread: Srumdiddlyumtious

    Srumdiddlyumtious

She just won the 8th at Aqueduct. Set a quick pace and looked like she was about to be passed, but she dug in and wouldn't let the other horse pass. Second win in a row so I'm expecting her to race in a stakes next. Looks like the Halls might have another talented Roman Ruler.

Gets an award for the silliest name of the week. And that's not an easy task in itself.

Yea Srumdiddlyumptious is a real silly name, but Tom Durkin seemed to have a fun time saying her name during the race

More fun than turf writers are having trying to spell it. ;-)

Gonna have to start following this one! Keep us posted SB!

Is it spelled Srumdiddlyumptious ... or Scrumdiddlyumptious?

It's Srumdiddlyumptious although Durkin pronounces it Scrumdiddlyumptious

What Stake race could she possibly be competitive in?

I'm not saying she's a superstar, but after winning her second race in a row you would think she would go on to a minor stakes.

Oh ... OK ... Cool. Just wanted to clarify, so I could look her up and watch list her.

Looking back over the charts of her races, I could definitely see an UNgraded stakes if not next time, then definitely the race after ... If she wins her next.

Twould seem a logical progression to me too, SB.

Thanks for agreeing Tin Man. I can see Breen and the Halls taking their time with her.

She can go to a Stake but she doesn't rate to be competitive. She did run well today, but also beat, essentially, $35K claimers. I guess there are overnight Stakes she can try at Monmouth. Given the purses, they may come up weak enough for her.

No problem, SB ... Hey ... People thought I was nuts when I talked of 10 year old, Porfido making it backs to stakes races after his hot streak earlier this year ... And lo and behold, his next race was a Grade 2 Stakes ...

So those who think you're nuts, may be the ones off the mark.

I think a 3 year old filly who has a record of 3-2-1 and has won her last 2 at high levels would seem to logically be on the cusp of giving a stakes race a shot. She seems to be on the rise.

Don't think either of us are necessarily predicting a win ... just guesswork as to what her next step may be.

I agree she does need to rate to be competitive and yes she hasn't beaten much, which is why she probably won't be rushed into a graded stakes. I can see Breen and the Halls entering her in one of those overnight stakes, but if she keeps winning then graded stakes will be in her future

Hitting the board in a Graded Stakes in not in her future.

Yeah ... I just wish he'd have run a little longer! I had a ton of respect for that pony ... Seems he was gone right when he was reaching his peak!
