    Extremely disappointing.

    14 nominations and only 5 go ...

I was probably gonna go for this ... Now I'm not so sure ...

The comeback of Sanger-bred Acclamation, an Eclipse Award winner as outstanding older male of 2011, is in doubt after he is expected to scratched from Tonight’s $100,000 Inglewood Handicap at Hollywood Park.

"Hopefully, this is not a long setback," said co-owner Pete Hilvers, who manages Old English Rancho in Sanger, where the horse was born and raised.

Crud. Was looking forward to seeing this guy run tonight.

Halloween... the only time a Haflinger has a snowball's chance of running in the Breeders Cup.

Mighty Mitch ... though he be but little, he's convinced he's actually 20 hands tall.

Well, according to TVG now, he may scratch.

I was going to definitely go, if Acclamation were running ... But if he's scratching, I'll probably just stay home.

At least tomorrow will be a great race day though ... with Stakes races all day long.

He's scratched. For being " just a little off " via Fresno Bee.

From 14 nominations with a lot of really nice names ... To only 5 running, including Acclamation ... Now to only 4 running and NO Acclamation ...

What a disappointing race. What's the point now?

I'll bet they wish they'd have kept Jeranimo down here now.

Maybe, but San Francisco Mile is also a Grade III and is $150,000 purse and the mile might fit him better. He probably wins either race though.

Probably so ... But I think Calimonco is one tough customer ...

But Jeranimo still probably wins. I like his chances against Holladay Road better though.

Definitely less competition in the Inglewood but I think he's better at a mile. With only 4 entries, none of who could be classified as top turfers, the Inglewood is a sad testament to the current state of affairs.

Yeah ... damn it ... The nomination list looked really promising ...

That it's ended up being this ... is pretty damn sad ...

Utopian takes it. Smug ran well. Nice race considering it was only a couple of horses.

Smug was really game there! He almost wired the field, but there was no denying Utopian.

Glad he won, he's one of the horses I really like. Plus, I'll have special memories of this race because of after.

    Utopian takes Inglewood

After tracking a slow pace throughout, Utopian edged Smug in the final strides to win the Grade 3, $98,000 Inglewood Handicap Friday evening at Hollywood Park.
