20/20 Vision: Can Black Caviar do it?

    http://edition.cnn.com/2012/04/27/sp...tml?hpt=hp_bn2

When Black Caviar lines up at Morphetville, Adelaide, on Sunday in front of an anticipated crowd of 30,000, the Australian wonder horse will carry the weight not only of jockey Luke Nolen but the expectations of an entire nation.

Well she has CNN writing about her. Not some blurb either. Can't recall anyone other than Zenyatta on 60 minutes getting such attention. It really would be quite the feat. The expectations of an entire nation. Not too bad.

Pretty incredible to watch her..Might be 1-25 in Euro wagering....Hay list at 7/2 or so is good price if you're looking for an upset..

Hay List? The Robert Sangster Stakes is a Group 1 for fillies and mares.

By the way, Atlantic Jewel's race, the All Aged Stakes, goes off in just a few minutes at 12:55 a.m. EDT.

Edited to add, she won! Had to work for it some. And XpressBet shows the turf as "slow."

Wow that was impressive. Really wish I could see her in person.

Other than maybe Hay List, it doesn't look like anyone has been able to challenge her at any point in her races.

She just doesn't know how to lose, eh?

Her gallop out worries me a little, she seemed pretty tired. Almost everyone passed her.

Thanks, I wasn't watching the race very closely as I was in the middle of something else at the time, so I didn't catch that.

Re: 20/20 Vision: Can Black Caviar do it?

To me, it means that the bettors are so sure that Black Caviar will not lose, and those betting the race are content to take the risk for their guaranteed ten cents on the dollar. Me, I would never take the risk, but large bettors see it as getting better value on their $$$ than putting their money in the bank and collecting .5%.
