Just read the news at Blood-Horse. Dynaformer was a lot tougher than any of us knew judging by how severe his heart was damaged a couple weeks ago.

Thought of Barbaro several times yesterday ... and it's nice knowing Dynformer died on what would have been his famous son's 9th birthday. Loved that old fella.

Are there any Dynaformer descendants in this year's Derby?
Not sure about the Derby- but do know that in the Woodford Reserve- Double's Partner is sired by Rock Hard Ten by Kris S by Roberto- so you've got the Roberto line represented at any rate. Gotta research this one.

Real sorry to hear about Dyaformer's passing. What a great sire he was. I can remember whenever i looked at a program, he was always in there as a sire. It seems, too, that his babies always liked the grass...I used to hear people say, this horse is by Dynaformer, and its a turf race, and the odds would go down. He had a great life and now he;s in horsie heaven with all those other greats including Barbaro. I'm sure he;s going to have a great time with all those greats up there. Also, i love the idea he is being memoralized at 3 Chimneys....I wish i were going to be there. This is a special horse with a memorial service.. I think the last one was John Henry...I would love to go to this if i were in Lex. that day. If anyone goes, i would love to hear about it and see his grave, photos of it. This is just wonderful that they are doing this..My condolences to Three Chimneys..They will miss him terribly...RIP DYNAFORMER
You see a lot of him everywhere. Grass, dirt, synthetic, and jumps. He sired solid, sound, classy types. I would give 10 Unbridled Songs for 1 Dynaformer. One of my all time favorites was McDynamo. Dynaformer will be missed. His legacy however will live on for generations in every facet of racing.

Bob Baffert told a story today about how Lukas sold his lifetime breeding right in Dynaformer right after he went to stud thinking he would never make it. Hannibal had the last laugh.
