It's great that Lave Man is with this horse. He seems to be good luck to him and Doug O Neil....I bet IHA is the toast of Calif. and H.P.....Been a long time since a SA Derby winner has won the KY. Derby...it's hard to beleive that on horse has won it from Calif . since 1989...And they had AFFIRMED in 1978....

Man ... He and they WILL be whenever they get back! You can rest assured of that!

The only key cog that was at HP over the weekend was Leandro Mora(Doug's right hand man) ... I congratulated him and he gave me a big bear hug! He was SO damn excited!

It was very cool ... Leandro is a super nice guy.

Mario was supposed to have 1 mount on Sunday, but he didn't show. He's such a nice kid. I'm sure he'll get a rousing ovation when he rides again this week. Can't wait to participate in that.

Any idiot that picks the SA Derby winner to finish last is just not worthy of writing about the sport.

I'll Have Another arrives at Pimlico

Reddam Racing's I'll Have Another boarded a van at Churchill Downs at 1:19 p.m. (EDT) Monday for the first leg of a journey to Pimlico Race Course, where his quest for a sweep of the Triple Crown will resume in the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes on May 19. The 2012 Kentucky Derby champion left Louisville International Airport on a Tex Sutton charter, landed at Baltimore-Washington International Airport, and got a police escort to the track from the Baltimore City Police Department.

I'll Have Another - pedigree. Interesting article.

    >Steve Shahinian, adviser to breeder Harvey Clarke, said that "Freddie Seitz from Brookdale Farm suggested the mating of Flower Alley for Arch's Gal Edith that produced I'll Have Another. If you couldn't breed to Distorted Humor, you could breed to Flower Alley, and he's a horse who could go a classic distance, which we wanted."<

Yes. Just curious if it was an O'Neil employee.

I'm guessing it's a Churchill employye, although I'm not certain.

I know Savas(sp) is usually Lava's rider when he ponies and that definitely doesn't look like him in the pics.

I'll Have Another being purchased at auction ...

Not a bad price for a Kentucky Derby winner!

He went to the track this morning for a jog: wbal.com/article/89695/2/template-story/See-Video-Ill-Have-Another-Fantastic-In-First-Trip-To-The-Track-At-Pimlico

Interesting to note the track was sloppy at the time of the jog and he did seem to be taking well to it.

ETA: Not sure why it isn't showing up as an actual link. Weird.

This horse is peaking at the right time. Problem is he has some really good horses to beat.
