Welcome all to Battle of the Sexes at Arlington Park.

Parading grandly out for the colts we have Roc25, Real Quiet, Criminal Type, and KD.
Prancing in front of the crowd for the fillies are Horsecrazygal21, Ty88, Tiger Dancer, Ruffian, Dusty, ElPrado1, and GotaDunQH.
As usual the fillies outnumber the colts, but the race isn't over til it's run.
They load into the gate--oh, Ty88 is feeling good today, she's thrown her jockey and gone into the gate on her own. She's looking back at him as if to say "are you coming?" He's back on now, all standing quietly, and--

They're off!

Ty88, ElPrado1, and Roc25 sprint out of the gate together. Behind them comes GotaDunQH, all alone on the rail, then the rest of the field--Horsecrazygal21, Real Quiet, Tiger Dancer, Ruffian, Dusty, Criminal Type, and KD, bunched together. Looks like most of the field is trying the strategy of closer today.

Suddenly Criminal Type surges past the pacesetters as they round the first turn. ElPrado1 goes with him, leaving Ty88 and Roc25 to battle it out behind them. GotaDunQH holds her place on the rail while Real Quiet distances himself from the rest of the trailers.
Off the first turn and into the backstretch--Criminal Type blew the turn! ElPrado1, Ty88, and Roc25 all seem confused by his sudden abscence. Tiger Dancer and Ruffian take the opportunity to move up on the outside. Ty88 and Roc25 have renewed their private match race. Horsecrazycal21 makes an early move while Ruffian continues her momentum. Dusty is loping along comfortably, and after her come the rest of the field.

Around the final turn and GotaDunQH is surging! Criminal Type blew this turn too, he's taking the overland route today, but he's still got speed. Dusty and Ruffian keep grinding for the front, if they take it it'll be Dullahan-style. But sprinting past them as if the race has just begun are Real Quiet, Tiger Dancer, Roc25, Horsecrazygal21 and Ty88!! The wire looms. Ty88 has been on the pace since the break and she's not giving up now! But GotaDunQH won't quit! Ty88 looks her in the eye and--ONE LAST SURGE!

It's Ty88 by two lengths!
GotaDunQH finishes a gallant second a length and a half in front of Roc25. ElPrado1 finishes fourth--it seemed to be a speed-favoring track, all of our pacesetters are in the top half of the field. Tiger Dancer finished well for fifth, followed by the unlucky Criminal Type who had plenty of speed today but seemed to favor the outside fence. Real Quiet follows him, then Horsecrazygal21, Ruffian and Dusty whose closing moves flattened, and KD, who put in a run but seemed to throw a shoe.
