    Plea to Creative Cause owners

Get a new trainer. Run this horse in the Belmont too. Just don't ship him all over the country this time. Go straight to NY and give the horse a real chance.

Horse has a trainer that ships a horse for no other reason that he wants to be around his $25k claimers. Fire him for that alone.

Plea to Creative Cause owners: do not read internet boards full of people wanting to tell you want to do with your horse, who have never owned a horse in their life.

But Im sure I dont have to tell you that.

Yeah, I have never owned a horse, just like last week you told me I gambled with monopoly money. I just cleared $3,200 on that race. Here is $1400 just from OTB. Where are your winning tickets fool. Why don't you go play with your monopoly money. And for the record, I have been in the winners circle of a couple grade 1 wins, and I might have been given my 10% interest in the horse, but I know the cash looked fine in my account.

Have you ever considered the horse may not do as well with another trainer? He looked well today and more than comfortable. He didn't shame himself either.

You can't say what you would do different unless you were in that barn with the horse every day. Perhaps his trainer realizes that while this horse is star, he's not going to be around forever and being a smaller barn, it's not wise to piss off all your other clients and have nothing left when the horse retires.

I know one thing, only and idiot ships the horse back to California between the Derby and Preakness and expects him to run his best rest.

The trainer basically is out of his league. His has no idea how to train a top horse. His comments this week about how it wouldn't be fair to the owners of his claiming horses if he stayed with the horse in KY during the two races was laughable. Guy is an idiot.

His training job with Empire Way (1/2 to Royal Delta) may have even been worse, if possible.

Hard to argue the point but not sure if the extra plane ride was worth nine lengths?

Well the owner wanted to run in all three races. Even the trainer said this week he bets his horse will be one of the only few standing after the Belmont. Once that decision is made you can't ship back.

It isn't a matter of whether or not he would have been closer, it is a matter of stupidity. There was simply no reason to go back to KY. NONE. It is almost like the guy just doesn't get it.

Ask yourself this, if the KY Derby winner and the 2nd place horse didn't ship back to their home base of CA, why should he?

Clients? What other clients does Harrington have beside Steinmann?

I don't need to ask myself. I thought (everyone in the world thinks) it was very unorthodox and bizarre to ship back to CA if he was serious abut running in Preakness and not many do that with a real contender. But I don't think it is the reason he ran third today. One could argue the horse is running his race anyway. If he just got beat, that's another story.

Joel Rosario rode CC today. Rode the heck out of him and the colt was well, well placed. JR had him in a terrific position, but it wasn't enough. Whether I liked CC being shipped back and forth is a moot point, but that was, IMO, a really nice ride and run by both jockey and colt.

Under the circumstances, Joel Rosario delivered a terrific ride.

He was too close to the pace, but the ride was not why he lost by 9 lengths. He ran out of gas. The fact that he ran basically 11f in the derby and then shipped back to CA and then back to KY and then off to MD, is not easy on a horse.

I feel bad for JR and what happened to his brother, but his ride was just an average ride. The rookie kid has been outriding him for 3 races in a row now, especially in the SA Derby.

Thank you for your opinion. I don't see it the same way as you.

I like Rosario. Great rider. But his ride was nothing special. That kid is outriding all of them. Puts his horse in the perfect spot every race.

You are playing the backhanded compliment game and that's fine.

I stand by what I wrote earlier and I'm not deviating from it.

If Rosario doesn't stay close to Bode, none of them had a chance. He knew this. He rode a perfectly good race, he just didn't have the horse. You need to get over it. The first three riders rode perfect races.

Personally, I thought it was a terrific ride period. Throw in the circumstances he was under and it was even better. Rosario is one of my favorite riders on either coast. The kid is clutch. He didn't get outridden today, his horse was simply not good enough to compete with the top two. Which is far less of a knock on Creative Cause as it is praise for IHA and Bode.

How many times did Cape Blanco ship between Europe and the US last time and he seemed to do just fine. The people on HRTV thought Creative Cause looked better then ever coming into this race.

So very true. Tell any of those 3 riders that this was the trip they'd get, they'd say, "then I can win."

Several people who'd seen him at CD and then at PIM commented about how much more relaxed he seemed, yet focused.

The horse doesn't know how to close out a race. Simple as that.

Watch every race he's run in from the Breeders' Cup Juvenile to present. With the exception of the San Felipe, Rosario puts him in good position at the head of the stretch and the horse simply flattens down the lane.

Bodemeister and I'll Have Another made him look really average down the lane today.
Well there's lots of smart ideas in books I've never read, when the girls come talk to me I wish to hell I had
