Because it's never to early to start.

Baffert said Bodemeister will not run in Belmont but he may run Paynter, who was very impressive winning Pim allowance race.

I have to say I am impressed with this. I like that they are moving him to the next location pretty much immediately. Give him time to settle in, go over the track a few times... worked well for the Preakness.

Also allows the sport and NYRA to promote the quest. Very cool.

Also-rans exit Preakness in good condition, some contemplating Belmont

Trainer Richard Dutrow Jr. said Sunday that Zetterholm appeared to come out of his fourth-place finish in Saturday's Preakness Stakes at Pimlico in good order. The New York-bred son of Silver Train was shipped back to Dutrow's barn at Aqueduct Sunday morning.

    I didn't know this.

Makes perfect sense .... for IHA *and* Mario to get to know that track! Now, for the weather to cooperate the next three weeks.

They would fall under performance enhancing in terms of intent. That or the old bluebloods that run NY racing think they are just ugly.

They don't do that much for a horse, it shouldn't be an excuse.

I think Matz was resisting using JC after the way his agent and JC treated him in Florida this winter, or he is leaning toward the other two big riders in NY anyway - who are sitting open.

Thinking their ugly would at least make some sort of sense. Wraps, blinkers -- these could all be considered performance enhancing pieces of equipment.
