Being a full to Trinniberg upped her worth. Still interesting. A $3500 stallion who's highest earner (Trinniberg) hadn't even earned that sales amount...(341k in earnings). His next best runner has a shade over 50k. Sales are just plain mind boggling sometimes!
Wasn't she a late out at kee April?
So many people go GA-GA over sub :11 breezes,..I know people love to see speed,..but It seems to me you might be able to get a bargain buying one that didn't breeze but had decent confirmation galloped well..I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way..
These days everything has to be sub :11 or they're just outright slow.
But a time that is just barely above average can indeed be a bargain - like Hip 494 at OBS April last year who worked an 1/8 in :10 2/5 (while the fastest work of that session was :9 4/5.
Hip 494 of course is I'll Have Another.
See, that just goes to prove front speed is not everything. I have seen some colt/fillies that don't have the real fast times, but they get over the ground nicely- makes you think that they want a bit more ground to show their best.
Was Zenyatta ever in a under tack show before she was sold? Would be interesting to see.
