Thread: O'Neil suspended 45 days

    Re: O'Neil suspended 45 days

This is not exaclty his first time at the dance. Justice could have been served over a year ago if he hadn't lawyered up, then stalled and delayed as long as he could.

It is not like it is his first offense or as if he has been spending his spare time doing charitable work for horse rescue organizations. He is a shady guy who has operated on the fringe of legality for a long time. For all the crap thrown at Dutrow, he is twice the horseman of this guy and takes a million times better care of his stock.

As far as I am concerned, I hope he wins the TC, then gets a ban take takes him away for a while, so his horses and the sport can heal from his stench.
    Everyone come home sound

Actually, for what it's worth, I've been told he does regular charity work to raise money to fight cancer and works closely with some horse rescue organizations. Not sure about the validity of it, but a lot of the people in the industry who have given him the thumbs up cite his work in these arenas.
And listening to some big out a' town jasper, hearing him tell about horse-race gamblin'.
Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on a horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch?
Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!

I hope it is true, but Charity begins at home. He should have taken better care of some of his own horses......

I do agree. I think there are a lot of question marks surrounding him and his actions, and while I don't think he deserves the entire blame for things he has done, he has a responsibility to keep the animals under his care fit and happy and at times I think this focus has fallen to the wayside. I do think -- or perhaps hope -- he is making amends these days. We'll see, I suppose, where things go from here.

It is and he does ... All of the time ...

Rick was just getting in a jab ... There are some here who enjoy it.

Funny how the fact that he was found guilty of not doing anything to the horse gets over-looked in their zeal though.

As someone whose horses ran just on hay, oats, grass and water it IS possible to not know the ins and outs of milkshaking. Cripes, I've known what it does for years but no idea what the ins and outs of it were because we never did it.

I do agree with you that the bad timing part is due to the delays and appeals...and it's unfortunate and partly his fault. But he had no way to know that he'd be in this position when a ruling finally came down either.

Don't waste your time. O'Neill could shoot a horse right in front of Tinny and he would still refuse to believe he was a bad guy because he let's him pet ponies and takes pictures. By tomorrow he will have convinced himself that they have just sent Drug on a vacation as a reward for all the charity work he does.

Just relaying what the article said Barny.

It says they did find that he'd done anything, but is being held ultimately accountable for the level being higher than legal.

Do you honestly believe they didn't know what milkshaking was? Really?? Wow.....

Not only are you EASILY the most obsessive person I've ever encountered ... But you're also loony as a dodo bird.

Let's put it this way ... He could solve world hunger, cure aids and end all wars for eternity and your psycho obsessive butt would still be all over him.

Just sayin' ... You're kinda scary.

Do you have any other interests in life aside from obsessively dogging every mention of O'Neill? I mean ... really ... do you?

Tinny, what that means is that they don't have film footage of him actually doing the deed and without that they can't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he did so. But, the horse was well over, wasn't the only horse he had over in a short time frame and that as a trainer it is up to him to make sure these things don't happen. You can go right on believing that he wasn't doing something he shouldnt' be, but ask yourself why this sort of thing doesn't happen to other people? If these horses magically came up with high TCO2 levels, it would be happening to more than just him.

Do you expect them to say the Trainer of the horse who just won the first 2 legs of the TC is the lying, cheating bastard he is? His record speaks for itself. He made his bed, now he has to explain to the world why the sheets are so damned dirty.

As for protecting the "game". The game doesn't deserve anyone's protection. If it had the guts to deal with this guy and his lawyer on a timely basis, someone else would be facing the press before the Belmont instead of this guy. All Trainers have skeltons in thier closet, but this guys skeltons are equine...and very real.

You are a simple creature. On the other page I answered clearly and respectfully why the ruling came down when it did and what that overage really meant. You are just so starstruck by Druggie that you fail to understand what is being said. You are a fanboy and nothing more. Other than getting pictures and pony rides, this sort of thing affects some of us greatly.

You are the obsessive one that singles me out. There are three or four people in this thread alone that are not thrilled with your b/f right now. Get over yourself.

One time I got a speeding ticket doing about 85 mph in upstate NY.My expensive lawyer went to court and got me to plead to a faulty speedometer......In this case the court found I didn't do anything either...I forget how small the fine was/the lawyer ended up making some good money but my insurance didn't skyrocket so I was happy....Guess I was innocent just like O'Neil eh?

That's fine ... Ignore all of the good he does and how he goes above and beyond with charities, equine rescue and donations ...

I honestly think you're climically insane.

Star struck is the LAST thing I am with any of these guys. I actually interact with them as if we're equals and follow their horses and know them.

Come to whatever conclusions you wish nutjob ... Being that you don't know me. Have never been around me. Have never seen me around trainers, jocks or barns ... You most certainly ARE the expert.

    Seek Psychological help ...

Carry on with your obsessive vendetta against O'Neill weirdo. I'm done parrying with you for now ... it's not worth my time.

Let me clarify for you: I've always known what milkshaking does in terms of it's effects. I have no idea the ins and outs of how to do it because we don't. We get a positive for it, you better believe we're looking up the details, how to do it and why the horse might test positive for it. So, do I believe them? You know what, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't and my world's a much happier place believing the best in a person than assuming the worst.

You'd be surprised what sometimes can show up in a test. Anybody remember the two standardbreds "mares" that tested positive for steroids? Come to find out both of them were actually hermaphrodites, thus the high testosterone levels.
