    Back in the late 70s, I had the privilege of seeing Johnny Longden work a horse one morning when he was training at Santa Anita. Down the stretch he rode with a perfectly flat back, so still you could put a cocktail tray on it! Thanks for sharing this!

    I read on Laura Hillenbrand's fb page where when Johnny was about 80 years old, he married his equally elderly fiance. When asked why he finally married, he replied "I got her in trouble."....LOL

    That's the thing I remember most about him! So cool that you got to watch him on the track.
