@DRFWelsch: Shivananda Parboo said he is currently leaning towards running Trinniberg vs. elders in G2 Smile on Sat. instead of 3yos in Carry Back.

Ever So Lucky (Strawbridge/Sheppard), last seen running poorly in the Blue Grass in late April, returned in style today in a mile allowance at DEL. Won easy as you please, by 7 1/2 lengths.

Blueskiesnrainbows was third in the Santa Anita Derby in April and ninth in the American Turf Stakes at Churchill Downs on May 4. Baffert said after the Swaps that Blueskiesnrainbows could start on turf or dirt in his next start. Thursday, he said a decision on the colt’s next start has not been planned.

“I won’t make that call for a couple of weeks,” Baffert said.

Paynter is bound for Saratoga, where he will run in the $600,000 Jim Dandy Stakes over 1 1/8 miles on July 28 and the $1 million Travers Stakes on Aug. 25.
Bodemeister is being pointed for the $1 million Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park on July 29.

Sounds like Blueskies could be headed back to turf next after all. Doesn't sound like they want to ship him any time soon again after shipping badly to CD last out.

I keep seeing Paynter's plans are JD then Travers. But Bode is just the Haskell. Wonder if they are going to skip the Travers and take on older instead with him?

Damn! I was hoping they'd try him against older horses.

Grade 3 winner Battle Hardened (Giant's Causeway), unraced since an off-the-board run in the Grade 2 Tampa Bay Derby in March, breezed a bullet five furlongs in 1:00 3/5 over Churchill Downs' fast main track on Friday.

    Whoops.

Not that he necessarily would have won the Smile had he been there, but he ran into Fort Loudon at that one's very best.

Grade 1 hero Bodemeister (Empire Maker) worked five panels over fast dirt on the main track in 1:01 in preparation for the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational July 29. He finished second in the Grade 1 Preakness Stakes last out.

Grade 3 Palm Beach Stakes winner Howe Great (Hat Trick), a half-length runner-up in the Grade 3 Hill Prince Stakes, covered five-eighths in 1:02 1/5 over Fair Hill's Tapeta training track on Sunday.

He should have been rested for Saratoga - the Amsterdam and the Kings Bishop...Trinni is definitely the best 3 year old sprinter...and Fort Loudon loves Calder...
