Wow, what a nice group- but I'm cheering for Switch- that girl runs her eyeballs out each and every time.

No other opportunities at the moment for female sprinters?

There's the Isaac Murphy H. at Arlington Park tomorrow, 6 furlongs, $125k purse.
On Tuesday at Presque Isle there's the Satin & Lace Stakes, 5 1/2 furlongs, $100k.
Next Saturday at Delaware there's the Sweet & Sassy Stakes, 6f, $150k.

$70k is just kind of pathetic for horses like Switch and Turbulent Descent.

But they get to stay home and run out of their own stalls here. For a potential extra 30-50K it's probably not worth it.

How much does it cost to ship a horse anyways?

They'll probably scratch Switch anyway...no way they're going to run her and concede one pound to Mildly Offensive.

Turbulent Descent just played with the field.
    Izzy Rules a stubborn second.
Mildly Offensive third, a nose in front of Switch.

    Turbulent Descent
    Izzy Rules
    Mildly Offensive

...TD did it pretty easily, though Izzy put in a game run. She was open lengths clear of the 3rd horse.

That was quite the hokey race call with a delineation of the prior stakes wins by the members of the field. Was it an attempt at getting the graded stakes committee to recognize that the Desert Stormer deserves a grade?

I actually liked it. It was a reminder that while this was an ungraded stakes race, we had three grade 1 winners running and other graded stakes winners too. These were classy horses. Maybe it was an attempt to get it more recognition. Either way, I thought Vic did a great job.

What I took away from the call was a recognition of the accomplishments of the field. It was refreshing to focus on some quality in more than 1 or 2 horses.
