    American Racing Manuals

Who has any? What years do you have? Perhaps some collaboration could be done on some stakes histories. I do a lot of stakes history research for bloodlines.net. If anybody remembers me, I'm also working on my own project about mares that produced two or more classic winners, so those histories also help (as I do include dams of two, say, Arkansas Derby winners - her name was Davelle, dam of Al Davelle & Prince Davelle). The project is 117 pages in Word now. Needless to say, I have a good stock of Aleve on hand.

    I have the following:

    1947,1953,1964,1966,1973,1978,1980,1989,2003,2005

I'm also waiting for a 1940 ARM to arrive in the mail. Soon, I hope, because I'm going crazy waiting for it!

    Re: American Racing Manuals

I used to have every single one from 1935 until they stopped doing them in 1994. Then I stupidly sold them

I also have the Graded Stakes Yearbook which was only around for four years and then the ARM was reintroduced in 1999. I currently only have the 2008 one

    Re: American Racing Manuals

I don't have the motivation to look them all up again (they're not yet organized, and tomorrow is cruise day), but this is about what I have to my recollection:

    1920, 1921, 1928, 1935, 1948-1976, 1992.

I also have a couple Krik's Guides and Goodwin's Guides.

I don't think I could ever sell my ARMs. I told my mother that if I should predecease her, I want her to donate my ARMs to the library, along with all my other books. But while I live, you couldn't pry them out of my hands! LOL!

I'll try and post the races I'm hoping to get complete/mostly complete histories on. That'll take a couple of days. I'm behind on everything else. Of course. I'm mainly looking for any Derby or Oaks history from any track in the country and in Canada & Mexico. (I'd consider the Derby Mexicano a major coup)

    Re: American Racing Manuals

The 1940 ARM helped me finish up the Latonia Oaks & Latonia Derby at bloodlines.net, if anybody's interested. Both were discontinued in 1937.

A couple of mares produced more than Latonia Oaks/Derby winners, or combos thereof. Well, you get what I mean. I need to go to bed.

    BELLE KNIGHT, b. ~1866 (Knighthood-Kentucky Belle, by Goodwood) #A2
    Unite, b.f. 1884 (Longfellow) – Latonia Oaks
Lavina Belle, b.f. 1885 (Longfellow) - Latonia Oaks

    VAILA(IRE), b/br. 1911 (Fariman(IRE)-Padilla(GB), by Macheath(GB) #8f
Befuddle, b.f. 1921 (Black Toney) – Latonia Oaks
Broadway Junior, b.c. 1922 (Black Toney) – Latonia Derby

    Re: American Racing Manuals

Okay...I'm back. Have some breathing room for the weekend at last.

If anyone can use their manuals or any other sources to supply the following:

    Derby Mexicano

    I'm missing winners for:

    1967, 1971, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1979, 1983, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1997-2000, 2002-2004, 2008 to present.

I think I'll be able to find pedigrees for most of them, once I get names.

    Re: American Racing Manuals

Just bumping the thread. Still missing Derby Mexicano winners for:

    1967
    1971
    1973
    1975
    1977
    1979
    1983
    1989
    1992
    1997
    1998
    1999
    2000

(And if people have other Mexican classic winners - I can't recall what the other two races are called right now, and I'm at work - that would be fabulous!)

Once I can get the race history completed, it will be posted at bloodlines.net.
