Nice to see they already have their marketing slogan.

So. Does some horse get shoved out at WinStar to make room for Bodemeister?

If Bode is so over hyped what are the rest of the 3 year olds this year?
I agree. Bodemeister isn't overhyped at all. He's a seriously good horse and one of the better 3YOs of recent years.

With Bluegrass Cat and Sharp Humor gone, I think they've got room.

I'd completely forgotten about Sharp Humor. Thanks.

between you and me, i'd love a barn full of 2nd place in the derby-preakness horses.

Isn't Winstar building a new stallion barn anyway?

Please dont tell me you are trying to compare Easy Goer with Bodemeister at this point in their careers. By this time, post Belmont, Easy Goer had won 8 races, including 3 grade ones, and was 2nd in the other 4, in a total of 12 starts. Bodemeister is still eligible for a NX2 allowance race.

In the remainder of Easy Goer's 3 year old campaign, after the Belmont, he won the Whitney, the Travers S., the Woodward, the Jockey Club Gold Cup, and finished out the year 2nd in the Breeders Cup to Sunday Silence.

Comparing Easy Goer to Bodemeister?? too funny.

Bodemeister may turn out to be a really good horse. At this point in time, Im not even sure that his stable mate might even be a better horse. Sure, he's had a couple of tough beats, but the facts remain he's won 2 out of 6 starts.

I don't think she was legit comparing them.

    Re: Bodemeister?

I think Bodemeister has already proven himself to be a very nice horse, of nice bloodlines, and I think the future holds better for him than the past did. It's easy to forget that this is a horse with no 2yo foundation and only 6 starts to his credit. He's still learning and figuring things out. Frankly, we're very critical of horses these days. Probably too critical. He loses a few close finishes to Creative Cause and I'll Have Another and you'd think he just ran 8th in the Derby and 6th in the Preakness the way some people are talking. Give the horse the opportunity to put everything together. I really don't think it's false to say that the horse is still learning out there, and the fact that he's learning - and succeeding - on the biggest stages shows you how good he is.

I'll tell you one thing...I wouldn't want to be riding against him when he does put it all together.

If this horse doesn't turn the Haskell into a runaway, you can tar and feather me in Times Square.

Yes, it will be done by the fall. It looks like it's going to be quite large and very, very nice when it's done. I think I heard it will also have 2 breeding sheds to help accommodate more stallions as well.

I've noticed that theme myself. The old days have a nearly insurmountable advantage. We weren't there to pick them apart in real time.

Thanks I thought I heard something about it. So since its supposed to be bigger I'm sure Winstar won't have a problem adding another stallion.

You're reading way to far into it. Somn is right, I was not actually "comparing" them. Don't read into it. Just look at the basic point.

perfectly said. I was trying to say something along those lines myself, but caught myself rambling on and on and deleted it all and gave up. haha

    Re: Bodemeister?

Could be an excellent move considering he'll more than likely retire as Empire Maker's best American son if all goes well. Not surprised someone snapped him up fairly early in the year.

Hey, they beat the Japanese, Koreans, Filipinos, Turks, etc, etc.

    Re: Bodemeister?

So I'll Have Another ends up in Japan but Bodemeister is going to WinStar in Kentucky...i never saw that one coming. But i guess if you look at the pedigrees, Bodemeister's pedigree is a bit more attractive looking.

Then please do bet your opinion. As for me I love the Bode's of the world because they are the only way to make money at this game. He will be favored in race after race. Everyone will continue to assume he is the best horse. He will no doubt continue to have a good excuse, but he also will no doubt finish second more than he will win. He will occasionally throw a monster race and confirm everyone's opinion. But he will also continue to burn your money. Untill he proves me wrong, he is a bet against race after race.

At least for now, your opinion is valid...but mine is right.

You'd be a fool not to include Bode in your exotics.
