Prix Jacques le Marois - Sunday 8/12

I suppose it's no surprise that this race drew a strong, deep field of Euro milers. After all, it's a rare Group 1 mile that was never on you-know-who's dance card.

Great job posting the pic tachyon, Coolmore strikes again. this enhances Frankel's rep even further since he has destroyed Excelebration many times over.

Excelebration took advantage of a Group One race with no Frankel in opposition by landing the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville for Aidan O'Brien.
Ridden by substitute jockey Christophe Soumillon after Ryan Moore was ruled out because of a fall, the four-year-old raced in mid-division for much of the Group One contest as Elusive Kate took them along.
The leader kept on strongly but she succumbed when Cityscape and Excelebration tackled her entering the final furlong and it was the Ballydoyle runner who proved strongest. He was well on top at the line.
The Roger Charlton-trained Cityscape took second place, with John Gosden's Elusive Kate keeping the fast-finishing Moonlight cloud out of third spot.
It was another well-deserved victory at the top level for Excelebration, who had chased home Frankel in no less the four Group Ones and headed to France instead of tackling the greatest horse in the world again in the Sussex Stakes.
